The numa is one of the oldest continuously used currencies in the world, with its first coin minting in the late ninth century. In the 1840s it was completely revalued to its current denominations. Over the last few years, its valuation as averaged 0.291 USD. There has been a push in recent years by the Maureti government to reissue 5Ɲ coins as bills, but this has proven highly unpopular and not gained much traction politically. | |
