History

Castle in the south of Viljanni

The first permanent settlement on Viljanni territory is believed to have been established around 530.

Geography

Viljanni lies directly at the Gulf of Volta, enclosed by Mergany in the north and west and Eshein in the south.

Climate

The predominant wind direction in Viljanni is east. The wind bears frequent spells of mild and wet weather from the Asperic Ocean, which causes a moderate maritime climate, with cool summers and mild winters, and typically high humidity. Thus the temperature varies with the seasons seldom dropping below −10°C or rising above 30°C. Due to the lack of high ground, heavy snowfall are seldom in winter. Rainfall occurs year-round, with no consistent dry season.

Also non-article pages, such as disambiguation pages, lists, categories, templates, talk pages, and redirects, can be regarded as stubs. Due to the lack of time, some stub articles have little verifiable information, but its subject has an apparent notability. Stub articles and sections are very important to the life of a wiki. Adding a topic might inspire another community member to add to it, and eventually the topic has enough content to be valuable to the community. Stub pages help show the progressive nature of the wiki. Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they have significant problems or are noticeably incomplete. Over the years, different editors have followed different rules of thumb to help them decide when an article is likely to be a stub. Editors may decide that an article with more than ten sentences is too big to be a stub, or that the threshold for another article may be 250 words. Others follow other standards of e.g. 1 500 characters in the main text. There is no set size at which an article stops being a stub. While very short articles are very likely to be stubs, there are some subjects about which very little can be written. Conversely, there are subjects about which a lot could be written, and their articles may still be stubs even if they are a few paragraphs long. As such, it is impossible to state whether an article is a stub based solely on its length, and any decision on the article has to come down to an editor's best judgement (the user essay on the Croughton-London rule may be of use when trying to judge whether an article is a stub). Similarly, stub status usually depends on the length of prose text alone – lists, templates, images, and other such peripheral parts of an article are usually not considered when judging whether an article is a stub. So let me conclude, this section will be expanded soon.

Foreign relations

Viljanni maintains relations with almost all countries in the world. Due to its small size, it is usually not represented by own diplomatic missions abroad. Instead, common embassies of the EUOIA or diplomatic representations of Mergany are used. By contrast, many countries are present in Alueella-Diplomaattin since Viljanni was one of the first international sites and supported political and economic integration.

Rail

Viljanni Central Station

Viljanni is a rail hub in eastern Uletha and mainly operates international services to Mergany and Eshein. Long distance trains stop at Viljanni Päärautatieasema (Viljanni Central Station), the city's main line terminus which is also used by regional and local trains for services to stations in the Viljanni metropolitan area. Viljanni also has its own rail freight centre with marshalling yards and a container terminal in the north close to the main harbor.

Central Station

The central station is the primary railroad station in Viljanni and also the largest regional and long-distance railway station in Viljanni. It was built between 1882 and 1886 with Altti Falkenbach as the architect. Before the renovation 1932-1935 the track led in to the station, but then the tracks were moved to the south and the former track hall was converted into a large waiting hall. Today the station features 21 tracks.

Demographics

Religion

Most people in Viljanni are nominally members of a Reformatic Church. There are three main reformatic churches: the Viljanni Reformilainen Kirkko with about 55% of the population, the XXX with about 17% of the population and the Reformatic Church in Mergany with about 12% of the population. Those who belong to one of the three churches have to pay taxes to their church, all others have to pay the same amount of taxes for social duties. Compared to Mergany, Oicumenism does not play a key role since Ortholicism is almost not present in Viljanni. Nevertheless many young people from Viljanni pilgrimage to the Monestary of Zaite once in their life.

Languages

Viljanni's main language is Suurisana. Due to its difficulty and because of the large international community Mergan and Ingerish are fully accepted.
