The road numbering system of the Mecyna National Highway Network is based on the zone-based system of Great Britain’s main roads, and the grid-based system of India’s National Highways.
Road numbers of vertical (north-south) routes begin with 1/2/3, depending on the location of the southern terminus. Road numbers of horizontal (east-west) routes begin with 4/5/6/7/8/9, depending on the location of the western terminus.
Vertical routes
Location of southern terminus | First digit |
---|---|
West of NH2 | 1 |
East of NH2 and West of NH3 | 2 |
East of NH3 | 3 |
Horizontal routes
Location of western terminus | First digit |
---|---|
South of NH5 | 4 |
North of NH5 and south of NH6 | 5 |
North of NH6 and south of NH7 | 6 |
North of NH7 and south of NH8 | 7 |
North of NH8 and south of NH9 | 8 |
North of NH9 | 9 |
