Forum:Request help/Is there a way to use an image as JOSM imagery?

I'm redoing my capital city, and I've found that for the downtown area my mapping turns out a lot better if I draw it by hand first. So I've drawn out my plan on a screenshot of the area of the map in which the city will be located, and I've scanned the paper and made it into a .jpg file. Is there any way that I can use that image file as an overlay for my mapping so that I can essentially "trace" my hand drawing onto the map?

NEVERMIND - I figured out how :)

You'll want to download the PicLayer plugin :) See https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Plugin/PicLayer for more details - Anonymous21 (talk) 01:33, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

It's also in the FAQ: Help:Frequently asked questions#I've drawn a map by hand or in some other program. Can I use iD or JOSM and trace it?. Thanks/wangi (talk) 12:20, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
