The physical geography of this state will remain generally the same as its existing geography, with a heavily mountainous and forested western region, falling into rolling hills further eastward. The basic outline of major rivers and where the heavily mountainous region has already been mapped. The climate of Wilthamshire is generally temperate, with mild winters and summers.

Wilthamshire is based upon the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA, as well as some influence from Appalachia. Physically, most of the state is rural and agricultural, with moderate population density. However, the major metropolitan area of the state, being New Annshire and the northern suburbs of Huntington, make up the majority of the state's population and economy. This region has major financial, business, and government sectors due to its proximity to the FSA's capitol. Rutherford is the capitol of the state and along with Milton (may be changed in name later) are smaller regional population centers. Wilthamshire's ethnic groups are mainly descendants of the original Ingerish settlers of the region, as well as immigrant Kalmish, Francquese, and other migrant groups.

The 6 orange circles are where the major cities will be.

Wilthamshire was first colonized by Ingerish settlers and has grown since as a state of the FSA. The state has a mix of rural farming culture and its urban culture. In the past, the rural regions of the state dominated, but as urbanization continued, and especially with the major growth of Huntington suburbs, the wealthy and skilled urbanized regions of the state now dominate the state's culture and politics.

Some of the main ethnic groups within Wilthamshire will be German, Irish, African American, Hispanic and several other smaller groups. Official language is Ingerish.https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1007664485189828608/1007752081458872461/Wilthamshire.png - proposed flag

Most of the mapping of Wilthamshire present currently is still the same as my mapping of the state when I owned it a few years ago. My existing mapping of New Annshire is the most detailed part of my mapping, and is almost completely unchanged from when I last owned it (https://opengeofiction.net/#map=15/-37.1476/158.2148&layers=B).
https://opengeofiction.net/#map=15/11.9388/-112.7894&layers=B I have mostly worked with detail mapping a small town outside of Example City within the New User zone, but I have also recently begun work on a medium sized town in Michisaukee. https://opengeofiction.net/#map=13/-36.7234/154.4086&layers=B

I have also done some mapping in blue territory to refamiliarize myself with JOSM when I first returned to OGF a couple of months ago. Here is a small village I mapped in German style (https://opengeofiction.net/#map=15/14.5008/-113.5732&layers=B)

I also most recent have been doing mapping in the collaborative nation of Lentië (https://opengeofiction.net/#map=13/56.0452/45.2424&layers=B).

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Discussion for clarification & decision

  • Hi, conditionally approved - I like the application and the mapping so far. However, given the short time so far on the site and no natural mapping, the approval is conditional on review by 12 Oct. Until then limit mapping to within relation 314189. This takes in a swath of urban area, but also a big patch of the rural parts of the state. Thanks/wangi (talk) 21:56, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
  • I have reopened the application, following the deadline. Unfortunately, there are issues with the mapping (lack of rural, lots of motorways, problematic railways), especially the abundance of motorway mapping in an area you specifically identified for rural mapping. Can you select from these three options:
    1. Close out the application, continue to build up mapping experience in other territories
    2. Take on the southern ~half of the state, with a prohibition on mapping further motorways
    3. Take on the northern ~half of the state, with a further three month trial period to showcase rural mapping
  • Let me know your thoughts, thanks/wangi (talk) 12:57, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Well, for now, I think I'll take the first option and continue my mapping in other territories ThePhrogianOverlord (talk) 02:02, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
