The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country

BG03 - Begigoku

Noun Project Map icon 1463108.svgPhysical geography
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

  • climate - mainly tropical
  • topography - mostly flat with an increasing amount of mountains closer to the center (maximum height 750m) and cliffs on the southeastern coast (plus an archipelago a few km away from the southeastern coast - more about what I mean in the past mapping section ^_^)
  • natural landscape - mangrove forests on the east coast, touristy beaches on the north and west coasts, rugged sea cliffs with relatively newly-formed beaches on the southeastern coast
Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

  • demographics - HDI of 0.810, 80% of population lives in the coastal areas on the east, north, and west while 19% lives in the central regions and 1% on the southeastern coast
  • economic development - recently upgraded to advanced economy status, high GDP per capita, historically concentrated on the coasts but some economic development started reaching the mountainous central regions 3 decades before, mainly relies on technology exports and tourism for income
  • land occupation - Begigoku's national capital is moderately south of the centerpoint; 7 of Begigoku's regional capitals are on the coasts while 2 are in the mountainous central regions; 8 of Begigoku's 10 settlements with populations of 500k or over are on flatland
  • infrastructure - public transport/rail infrastructure is well-funded; all of Begigoku's 2 complete motorways were first built 4 decades ago with all attempts at building more motorways being halted indefinitely due to controversy; technological infrastructure is usually upgraded every 5 to 10 years
  • mapping style - similar to IRL Japan, PR China, and the mountain states of the USA
Noun Project languages icon 105908 cc.svgHistory & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

  • intended culture - blend of IRL Japanese and Irish cultures
  • language - Ingerish (IRL English) and Nihonish (IRL Japanese) as official languages with Eirie Caeltig (IRL Irish) as a recognized minority language

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

OGFmapicon.png 13.7685°N, 113.4716°W (an archipelago called Hyakuhachijima that I started mapping in the new user practice zone and plan to move to the southeast of BG03 once I get editing rights to it and eventually again when I begin holding a territory elsewhere on the OGF map (^///^))

Feather-core-check-square.svg Territory application approved
Approved. As you know, BG territories are non canon and not for long term mapping. /wangi (talk) 07:14, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
