The Nayina Republic is planned to be a small, Franquesse-speaking nation in southern Tarephia. Nayina is mostly Tropical Rainforest and Monsoon (Af and Am Köppen classification), which is optimal for the farming culture of Nayina. Nayina is a mostly flat country, with some low mountains in the northeast of the country. The plentiful water that filters down from the mountains, due to the large amounts of rain in the winter, creates optimal agricultural conditions.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Because of the large amounts of farming, Nayina has established a fairly strong economy, currently producing a variety of staple crops for Tarephia and other nation, one being cacao. After Franquesse occupation, the Nayinese were able to preserve materials, thus resulting in an agricultural boom. The mapping style is intended to imitate that of Northern South America (i.e., the Guyanas, Surniame, possible eastern Venezuela). THe Nayina Republic is a Democratic Semi-Constitutional Republic,

The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

I used to own this exact territory a few years ago, and I have some mapping from there that I feel reflects the style of Nayina.

As for my current territory, the FSA State of Riopoderos, here are some examples of my favorite works:

P.S. I will continue to reflect and revise my current plans here. It's just a basic outline of what Nayina is going to look like.

*I forgot to add that I am requesting this as an additional territory, please let me know what alternatives work.

Hi Geoc3ladus:

Overall I'd say this is a good request for the territory - I see no issues granting this as an additional territory seeing its small size, your activity and history with the territory (though I must say, I doubt a "fairly strong economy" is often built on agriculture alone).

Before I approve the request however, I do have a question: It would appear the mapping that is currently present in the territory does not quite fit with your request's specifics (using English, mostly grassy rather than rainforests). What are your plans for the mapping currently in the territory?

Hi there!

Thanks for getting back to me!

I do see that the mapping there is not suitable for the region: it is merely a result of my past ownership there, and me not being consistent with the mapping style, economy, human and physical geography, etc., and instead doing American style mapping (hence why I exchanged it for Riopoderos a while back). I tried to pick my examples from TA109b that would best fit the mapping style of the Guyanas, which Nayina is based on. If you want, I will do some map this style in Commonia, or some other blue territory.

As for the economy, I forgot to add, the agricultural effect on the economy, while it was a decent sized factor that did help boost it, didn't affect it to make the Nayinese rich. My view of their "fairly strong economy" was about $9 000 - $10 000 USD of GDP Nominal per capita. Nayina isn't particularly wealthy (I'd say an HDI of about 0.5-0.75 [at most]), but it isn't particularly poor either.

Hopefully this clears some confusion!

Happy mapping,

Hi Geoc3ladus,

Just a remark on the Franquese/French name. The sound "yi" is rather uncommon in French (I can think of a few irregular verbs such as bouillir/to boil or jaillir/to spring that have it), so naturally, it tends to be replaced by a hiatus instead. Nayinie (Nah-yee-nee /naji'ni/) would likely be pronounced Naïnie (Nah-ee-nie /na.i'ni/) by native speakers. Nonetheless, you may decide to keep Nayinie as its written form. Having a feminine ending, the official form should be République de Nayinie or République Nayinienne (Republic of Nayina or Nayinan Republic) with the de/of as Republique Nayinie is incorrect. If the request is accepted, please use name:Nayinie (so that it is displayed on the map) and, if you do want to indicate the official form, use alt_name (it seems official_name isn't canonical yet). --Aiki (talk) 20:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi there,

Thanks for the correction and suggestions! I'll use either Nayinie or Naïnie as the official name, short for Nayina. If there's anything else that I need to know and/or correct and/or improve, please feel free to let me know.

While my French is not good enough to comment on any linguistic topics... all the rest sounds good to me! Do be sure to go over your past creations in the territory to reconsider, revise and remove them to fit your new plans. Happy mapping! Taka (talk) 21:52, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
