Noun Project Signature icon 619326 cc.svgTerritory ID and proposed name
The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country

UL29l - Zsansk

Noun Project Map icon 1463108.svgPhysical geography
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

Considering the location of UL29l, the climate would be alike to Northern Scotland and Norway. The north-east would be heavily mountainous with the likeliness of snow occurring - a great place for that of a skier or the happenings of winter sports. The north-west would be where the mountains subside with the land flowing into the sea - this could be a place of cold-water fishing. The south would predominantly be forest, with that being the location of the capital city. The south would experience warmer temperatures in comparison to the north, however these still will rarely exceed 15°. Already existing rivers will stay as they are to make sure other parts of the country can have access to water, as well as being able to be easily accessed from elsewhere. The forest as well as the mountains will create a barrier from that of the country Lantia, proving difficult to create a connection between the two.

Invest - The Noun Project.svgHuman geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

The country of Zsansk would use a mapping style similar to that of the United Kingdom, heavily influenced by Scandinavian countries. A road numbering scheme would also be in place, however how this will be implemented is yet to be established. They will also drive on the right. Most of the population will reside in the south and south-west, it being the population epicentre. The capital city will be a large port as it will be located by the sea to provide easy of access to international goods and boats. Due to its difficulty to be reached, the north and north-west will be quite sparsely populated and very few towns will be located here, however small tribal villages will be scattered in northern regions. Due to its mountainous landscape, wind turbines will be located in the north-east, thus meaning the country will be heavily dependant on wind-power, making it self-sustainable. Off of the shores of Zsansk, there is also a large oil deposit which is sold to other countries, thus making the GDP the largest in the economic world. The main city of Zsansk will be very urbanised, with many skyscrapers and large buildings making up the majority of the land. The official currency of Zsansk will be the PMOZ (People's Money of Zsansk), coming in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and the occasional 1000. The exchange rate from PMOZ to GBP would be 10PMOZ to 1GBP.

Noun Project languages icon 105908 cc.svgHistory & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

The official language would be English, with the second being Swedish, and the third being the LOTZ (Language of the Zsansk). First discovered in the late 1300's by an English army, Zsansk would be soon taken over by descendants of the Norway Tribe, then being called the LOT tribe. Zsansk is a democratic nation with a prime minister voted and elected every 2 years. The head of state is the Royal Family, located in the capital city. The country of Zsansk is very influential with its music across the globe, with around 1 successful, internationally renowned musician to every 50 people.

Discussion for clarification & decision

  • Thank you for your application. A few comments: climate-wise, UL29l would ideally be a little more temperate than Northern Scotland or Norway, see OpenGeofiction:East Uletha, however there is a certain amount of wiggle room of course. Your verbal description of the geography is well thought-out, a simple sketch of major geographical features and population centers would be appreciated however. Regarding "the largest GPD in the economic world", please be advised that superlatives should be avoided, since otherwise there would be a constant race between mappers who has the tallest/largest/biggest/richest... The connection to Ingerish heritage is a nice touch and fits into this sector which is supposed to have had an Ingerish colonial past around the time you envision. I wonder however how a country of more than a few thousand people could manage to produce "around 1 successful, internationally renowned musician to every 50 people"; I'm pretty sure even a small town would end up having to produce more internationally renown musicians than a single person could possibly remember ;) In terms of past mapping, the references you provide are sufficient, despite a lack of natural features so far. Before continuing with the application, please provide a sketch of your initial plans for the territory. Cheers, Leowezy (talk) 20:08, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
