This agreement governs the terms for your existing and future contributions.

Thank you for your interest in contributing data and/or any other content to the Opengeofiction project. Please read the following contributor terms and conditions carefully and click either the 'Accept' or 'Decline' button at the bottom to continue.

Copyright terms

By participating in OpenGeofiction you agree to release your contributions under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0). You are free to choose a more permissive Creative Commons license, as well.

User responsibility

Registration and participation in the OpenGeofiction community means that you agree to the site's rules and contributor terms listed herein, along with all site policies and the terms of use.

We reserve the right to revert your edits and, in extreme cases, to terminate your account, for whatever reason but including the following:

  • If you commit an act of vandalism. This includes edits in areas of a different owner without prior consultation.
  • If you misuse Opengeofiction to display obscene or personally insulting messages of any kind.
  • If you violate the copyright of a third party or import content from other copyrighted sources, such as OpenStreetMap®.
  • If you do not make any edits over a prolonged period of time. We will try to contact you first, but we have to assume your interest in participation has waned if we receive no response.

Data disclaimer

We will not take any responsibility for the backup of the data created by your edits. Snapshots of the data set are created at regular intervals and can be downloaded from http://opengeofiction.net/backup. Please back up your data frequently.
