Nordestan (/nɔːrdɛstɑːn/; Florescentian: Federação Nordestão), officialy the Nordestan Federation,[1] is a country located on the central part of Gwynian subcontinent, part of the continent of Archanta. It is one of the largest country in Gwynian by land area. About 15 million people live in Nordestan according to the 2010 census. The capital and major city of Nordestan is Charlestown.[2] Nordestan shares borders with Ardisphere, Dandria, Alderdia, AR021, Déserts, AR035, AR059a and Crenru. It also has borders over water with Aorangëa by the Gwinian Sea.[3]
The country is home to around 15 million people, and up to 80% of them live on the northeastern parts of the country where the climate is not so dry. The people who formed the nation descend mainly from the Nordos, Saneuses and Pantanus tribes that have occupied the arid and semi-arid lands of Gwynian since ancient times.[4]
After internal divisions and several wars by territory and resources, the leaders of the medium territories that formed Nordestan decided for its territorial unification in 1989, since then, the country appears in the international scene as a commercial and cultural partner of several other nations. Its government is now based on a democratic form of rule. The president is chosen in direct elections.[5]

History
There are human records in the region about 800 years ago. The main tribes that settled in the place were the Pantanus to the north, the Nordos to the east and the Saneuses to the West. Most of the tribes settled in the valleys of some intermittent rivers or in the higher and less hot areas, with the exception of the Saneuses that settled in the west, in the middle of the Sirenoa Desert.[5]
Because it was located in an area where trade was intense, each tribe was being subdivided and trying to form its own territory, thus, the first statoids were formed in the region.
In the late XIX century, the scarcity of water and food, led to increased wars. This war period lasted until about 1930, when leaders of the small republics of the region decided to unite and create an intergovernmental organization in order to reduce conflicts and increase local cooperation, as well as being able to defend the region from the growing interest of other peoples.
The Commonwealth of National States was founded in 1939, its letter provided for cooperation agreements between the different republics and the creation of an army to protect them. In 1989, when the cooperation treaty ended, the former republics decided that they would form a Federation, where each entity would have high autonomy, but with a central government that would take care of foreign and strategic matters.[5]
