The Antarephian Alliance (AnA) is a politico-economic union of states that are located primarily in Antarephia. The AnA has developed an internal single market through a standardised system of laws that apply in all member states. AnA policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital within the internal market, enact legislation in justice and home affairs, and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries, and regional development.

The AnA traces its origins back to several transnational organisations formed in the 1940s, including the Maritime Bureau of XY and Waldon.

After long negotiations XY and Waldon agreed to come together to form a broader alliance. The XYe Treaty, signed in 1955, established the Antarephian Alliance and its governing body, the Antarephian Council, with the aim of promoting deeper economic collaboration.

In 1966 Auleus joined. In 1972 Aŭstrasuno Tero joined. In 1973 Pasalia joined. In 1979 Esterlon joined. In 1980 Woolonia joined.

In 1990 the Treaty of XY expands the scope of the previous treaty to include areas of common interest beyond the purely economic, moving into the sphere of culture and rights, international trade and security. The powers of the Council structures increase and become entirely elected by the national populations. The Council supersedes the sovereignty of member state governments in several limited areas such as justice, human rights and the environment.

In 2001 the Court of Justice of the Antarephian Alliance was established.

In 2008 the Treaty of XY formalises the wider aims of integration between states. It agrees free movement of citizens and finance between the member states. It also introduces a single currency, agrees a framework for pooled border control, increases the integration of security/police services and promotes shared sciences. It establishes Antarephian Central Bank with seat in XY.

In 2016 negotiations are begun to discuss a new treaty with the potential to agree a framework for coordinated defence activity between member states.

In 2018, Maessigerland joined.

The Antarephian Council (AC) is the directly elected parliamentary institution of the Antarephian Alliance. It exercises the legislative function of the AnA.

Structure of the Council
The Council is elected by the national parliaments of the member countries and appoints several Commissions to support it. Each Commission is tasked with preparing and proposing policies which the Council then debates and votes on. Successful legislation is then passed to the member states to be implemented. Each signatory to the Wyford Treaty agrees to abide by and fully implement policy from the Council.

It has been directly elected every five years since 1955. At that time the Council was composed of 16 Councillors, 7 representing XY and 9 from Waldon. In 1966 Auleus joined and number of Councillors increased to XY. In 1972 Aŭstrasuno Tero joined and number of Councillors increased to XY. In 1973 Pasalia joined and number of Councillors increased to XY. In 1979 Esterlon joined and number of Councillors increased to XY. In 1980 Woolonia joined and number of Councillors increased to XY. Number of Councillors largely increased for the 2010 elections.
