Arákkanai (ɑɾˈɑk.kɑnɑi, old script: xxx) is a city in Kojo's region Wāfyeíkko-iki. Its population is 260,000 people, however the city's boundaries have not been adjusted to the city's growth since the early 20th century, besides the eastern parts. When accounting for the population of the immediate surroundings (Machi, Milshabul, Essarechal, Loshnain, Melvingsul, Hīgaelzon and Boelbyacchi) another roughly 215,000 inhabitants have to be added, being part of a close commuter area of nearly half a million people.

Regional Rail

Arakkanai KC KCS sketch.png

The dense net of regional KC trains around Arákkanai serves as an S-Bahn like system. In the city, the KC trains (and one KCS line) run over a dedicated set of tracks separated from other modes of rail, with much closer stopping distance. These trains terminate on platforms 10-13 in a special west-annex of Arákkanai Zóngchezi, elevated above a major roadway. The KCS and six KC lines run every 30 min on weekdays, and the two KC lines running eastwards each run every 20 min. That amounts to 20 trains per hour and direction using the core section of the network, or one train every 3 min.

KCP trains connect the city to neighbouring towns with fewer stops than the KC trains.

There are 8 tram (Shigájanchoel) lines serving the city. On some routes through the old town the trains run underground, which is why there is a debate whether the system should be rebranded as a Tokkyaenchoel.
