The State of Atelfain is one of the two states of Eshein. The state was founded in 1742, with the signing of the New Colsex Treaty. The Treaty was an one-side agreement of the New-Colsexish Ingrans in which they divided New Colsex to the two regions (states), in order to prevent conflicts. The Ingran treaty forced all the Mergans from Keswerg to move to the south, to Atelfain as part of "rearranging" the colony. It is one of the reaosons why Gaerman is still spoken there. It's capital city is Imperium and the largest city is New Tyrrin, the federal capital. Atelfain is divided into 5 Krayks: Estberayk, Leykenland, Midatelfain, Noy Tyrrin and Sutlanden.

The name "Atelfain" comes from the old nikcname of Argenstad, "Atmenfein", meaning in Gaerman something close to "Breathe Good" because the islands the town is located on were known for their good air. Argenstad was an important place during the 10th and the 11th centuries because it was located on an island so it was safer than the capital of the kingdom, Imperium. Some kings chose to live there in order to feel safer. During the following centuries, after the walls of Imperium were constructed, the town lost it's importance but it's nickname became a nickname for a good and safe place therefore people started calling their area by this name. Throughout the years the pronounciation changed form "Atmenfein" to "Atelfein" and it became an official name of the region south of the Owneheym Strait in the New Colsex Treaty in 1742. When the Ingrrans started building their "safe haven", a city on islands, they wanted to name it with a name that sounds like Atemnfein after they understood what that nickname meant. The ended up calling their city "Autumnbound" which it's beginning sounds like "Atemnfein" but it's an ingerish word so no one will confuse the city to be Gaerman..
