The Constitutional Republic of Auronia, or simply Auronia (Aurona in Auronian, Avaronna in Old Auronian), is a country in northeast Tarephia. It's capital and largest city is Koescad located in the east. It is bordered by Targueral to the northwest, TA011 to the north, TA013 to the west, and the Asperic Ocean to the east and south. It also has a short maritime boundary with TA014a.
Auronia was inhabited by natives since the 3rd century BC, with different tribes ruling the area during Auronia's history. It wasn't until the late 19th century, when Auronia fell into the hands of the colonial powers, and became a colony of Ingerland. However, the Ingerish held onto Auronia for only 30 years when Auronia declared itself independent from the colonizer. After a brief century later under a dictatorial regime, Auronia broke into war with itself, when the brutal Auronian Civil War was started by the rebels throughout Auronia to overthrow the regime. Auronia was 'reborn' in 2002, becoming a modern democracy, with an economy transitioning to a capitalistic, free market economy. Auronia later found sources of massive petroleum reserves near the Altavian-speaking Vivedian Islands in the south of the country, which improved the nation's economy and standards of living. In 2010, Auronia joined the Tarephia Cooperation Council, being the first nation from Northern Tarephia to do so.

The name Auronia comes from the Old Auronian word for wreath - Avarono, which together with the Ingerish influence, evolved to Auron. The laurel wreath, as seen in the flag of Auronia, is supposed to represent peace of the nation, due to the harsh history of Auronia.
Another possible theory explains that Auronia got it's name from the word Orna which translates to non-aggresive.
The history Auronia is very diverse with many different entities ruling the land. No matter how many wars were fought, the current location of Auronia is the true heart of this civilization.
Old Age (375 BC-700 AD)
The first settlement was built 35km north of the modern city of Kapoeta, hidden in the Kas Mountains. It was built and inhabited by the Yuzwaw tribe from about 375 BC to 700 AD. The nearest neighbor was a few hundred kilometers away. The Yuzwaw tribe numbered about 70,000 people, of which 15,000 people lived in their capital - Bzata. They were great hunters, which shows how they have adopted to the forest wilderness.
Middle Age (700-1867)
In 703, the first Auronian civilization is born. The Laaza tribe started their nation in the Auronian valley, near Boskamp. The capital, which can still be seen today, Boqte, is considered one of the most important sites to the Auronian people. Except being the first ever Auronian settlement, it was also considered a holy place, where 'the Gods dropped a tear, and created the city', as seen in the Vovariana Depest, the first book of Auronia, in which most of the history has been written.
Auronia is sometimes nicknamed 'The land of tears' , because during wars, most people (often women) are crying and mourning for their husbands, fathers, children or other relatives. Because Auronia had a huge number of wars, and many, many warriors and civilians died in those wars, it is said that 'all the tears poured by the women of Auronia, could flood the whole planet'.
Laaza tribe expanded briefly and controlled much of the Auronian Valley. Other significant tribes include the Vraa, the Qopasua, the Limbo and the Eb tribes.
Medieval Age (700-1610)
After Laaza conquered much of the land, it established a functional state under a single king/queen. This age included the most wars of any other period of Auronian history. The most deadly war was the Laaza-Vraa-Eb War, fought between 988 and 994. It was fought by the three tribes, one against the other. Even though Laaza was much wealthier, technologically advanced and more populous than the other two tribes, Laaza suffered the most, with 400,000 deaths just by Laaza. Eb lost 150,000 people and the victors, Vraa lost 78,000 people. This will lead to the first union of several Auronian tribes, believing this will stop the wars between the very similar tribes.
- First Auronian Nation (1002-1610)
The first proper Auronian nation was Avaronna , made in 1002 from the union of the Vraa, Laaza, Eb, Limbo and other tribes in the area. The capital was located in Ratisca Duvaila, just 1km west of Koescad, the capital of the Vraa tribe, the victorious side of the Laaza-Vraa-Eb War. This union brought peace for 7 total months. The tribes just weren't capable enough of sustaining each others existence, and many mini-wars were fought over regions of Avaronna.
Ratisca Duvaila is thought to be the first traces of Koescad, which would eventually become the most important city in Auronia. The timeline continues as usual, different tribes fight over land, and the Vraa stays dominant.
Pre-Colonization Period (1610-1867)
Some parts of the world have already been colonized by western powers, however Auronia still stayed neutral on that topic. Vraa, continuing their dominance and stabilizing their regions, starts preparing for a new united nation. This time, the 'union' was not planned to establish peace between the tribes, which failed miserably the last time. It was rather a strategical move to strengthen the nation, which already knew colonizers could come anytime. Vraa was the only tribe that was trading with colonizing powers and had a clear view on what was happening around the known world.
- Second Auronian Nation (1610-1733)
Vraa started it's conquest in 1604, with the first war of this period, the Vraa-Niodle War. It fought wars with near every tribe, and won all of them. Vraa established a much stable and stricter chiefdom and there was a lower chance of revolts in the nation. Vraa knew that strengthening the newly conquered parts would just cause more revolts, so it used it's power to economically advance in the original regions of Vraa.
Some conquered tribes started copying the ideas of Vraa, and eventually found a way to strengthen themselves, and start the preparations for a new revolt.
- Third Auronian Nation (1733-1867)
The Great Vraa Revolt started in 1730, and was finished in the favor of the rebels. However, the land wasn't divided into many smaller tribes, but was divided into 2 main kingdoms, and other smaller tribes that weren't conquered by Vraa before. One of those tribes was Vraa, with reduced land and controlling only Koescad and a bit of the surrounding area. This didn't stop them to get stronger, primarily economically, and Koescad was still the fastest growing part of Auronia.
Boqozam and Vogga were the two main kingdoms, and Boqozam quickly defeated Vogga to establish the official successor of the Auronian nation.
-- Boqozam Kingdom (1733-1755)
Boqozam controlled most of Auronia during it's 22 year long rule. It's center was in Boskamp and was much poorer compared to Vogga and Vraa, however it had much more people than the two. Boqozam tried to stay strong with many other rebels from different smaller tribes. In 1754, the Boqozam-Vogga War broke out, as Vogga took the opportunity to strike back, and conquer the lost lands.
-- Vogga Kingdom (1755-1867)
Vogga won the Boqozam-Vogga War, lasting from 1754 to 1755. Not only Vogga won the previously lost lands back, but it expanded further more than Boqozam did. Vogga, eventually pushed Vraa out of Koescad, and move it's capital from Kostmaa, to Koescad. Koescad boosted the economy of Vogga by high means. They were so delighted of the boost that they started on influencing Koescad on their traditions. During the rule of the Vogga tribe, the rural areas went economically downwards, and a lot of them primarily focused on agriculture, while Koescad, seeing a huge boost, became the merchant center of Auronia.
Arrival of the Ingerish (1867-1870)
Even though the Ingerish found Auronia back in 1528, they were scared that they will lose their men in the colonization process. Many rumors said that Auronians were fierce warriors, that had the energy to fight even 1000 wars. That wasn't untrue, however Ingerland was by far technologically advanced. Ingerland had guns, while the tribes of Auronia still used sticks and bows, however a powerful weapon was the poison blower, which was used to shoot deadly poisoned feathers from the bibi bird, and instantly kill the opponent.
Ingerland started the first expedition in 1867, arriving in Koescad in a peaceful way, to show the tribes that they weren't aggressive. Trading was established between Vogga and Ingerland, and by the next year (1868) at least 15,000 were already in Koescad. Ingerland launched a surprise invasion on Koescad in 1869, and successfully, after just 5 months of fighting defeated the tribesmen of Auronia. 90,000 Ingerish soldiers attacked 190,000 Auronian soldiers. The Auronians stayed with only 13,000 soldiers remaining, while the Ingerish lost about 12,000 soldiers.
Ingerland started influencing the Auronians immediately, which would affect the evolution of the Auronian culture in the future.
Mid-Colonization Period (1870-1900)
Ingerland quickly expanded it's influence of the rest of Auronia. Most native citizens were oppressed by the Ingerish rule, and only a few Auronian people made their reputation in order to live in peace. Ingerland started to use the Auronian forests as a source of energy, and swiftly destroyed 35% of the forests. Ingerland's colonizers did a few smaller genocide of the Auronian tribes. About 100,000 people were killed in Kapoeta, Kosrae and Boskamp due to rebelliousness. This genocide silenced other Auronian rebels, as a message that there are far more powerful cultures in the world, and the Ingerish, as one of the leading world colonizers, were not the ones to mess with.
Ingerland, although being harsh to the Auronian population, did increase it's view in the world, and most importantly, it increased the wealth of the land. Mines were opened, major streets in Koescad were even paved, business started to pop-up, etc. Ingerland put Auronia on a whole different level.
In the late 19th century, many Auronians earned enough money to buy military equipment, as a preparation for a great rebellion.
Post-Colonization Period (1900-today)
In 1898, Auronia rebelled and declared war on the Ingerish rule. By 1900, Auronia defeated most of the armies from the Ingerish, which didn't have much time to prepare for this war, so they gave up and gave Auronia it's independence.
Independence and Dictatorship (1900-2001)
Auronia knew it's harsh history very well, and the military general from the Auronian War of Independence, Velebb Naister, took the rule of the newfound Republic of Auronia, and established a government where he didn't allow to have opponents in the parliament. He added many stricter policies, and he banned many things, because as a kid, his parents would forbid him to use them.
He did increase the economy by a huge matter during the first 10-15 years. In 1915, the rule was getting out of control and more and more people started to rebel. Velebb Naister was scared and knew he would lose his position as a president, so he made things even stricter and harsher. He would start an organization to control every registered Auronian, and to control the business.
Economy stayed the same for about 80 years, however the average economy was falling down due to the rising population, which boomed during this period. Nearing the end of the 20th century, everything in Auronia was getting downfall. The economy did get worse, but remained steady as before. Population started to decrease, and rebelliousness hit the maximum.
Auronian Civil War (2001-2002)
In 2000, with the help of the AN, the rebels declared war on the dictatorship, as a 'gift' for 100 years of the same dynasty. About 4 million people got out on the streets to rebel, with 300,000 being equipped by some sort of weapon. The AN sent 60,000 peacekeeping forces to Auronia. The Great March was an offensive of walking from Boskamp to Koescad. This route would eventually become the H-4 highway, known as the 'Highway of Unity'.
After 15 months of fighting, the dictatorship finally capitulated on May 25th in front of 7 million people.
Modern Period (2002-today)
Currently, Auronia is on it's way to become one of the richer parts of the world, and it's on a good route for that achievement. The economy is market-based, supports capitalism. In a huge contrast to the dictatorship rule, Auronia is ranked 1st for Economic Freedom in the world. It looks forward in using it's mineral and fossil resources, and invest into manufacturing instead of selling raw materials, and is investing in the IT sector as well. Population is increasing and most of the poorer are rapidly catching up to the richer class.
Geography & Climate
Auronia is a country located in the northeast of Tarephia, a specific area in the continent. The terrain is 55% flat, under 500 meters, 32% is composed of hills between 500m and 2000m. The final 13% is made up from the mountains of above 2000 meters above sea level. The highest peak is Ques Kas (Ing. Kas Mountain) with 4391m above sea level, located in the municipality of Queskas, which got it's name after the peak. The Kas mountain sees rare snow every 15 years, and surprisingly has two ski pistes in the Queskas Mountain Resort. Both are used on the very rare occasions when it snows on the peak. The Kas mountain is a popular year-round tourist spot, due to being a national park, and home to many natural monuments, and is popular spot for hiking, camping and climbing mountains. The rest of the north (Kas Mountains) and central (Auronian Mountains) parts are also hilly and mountainous. In between the mountain chains lies to most important part of the country - the Auronian Plain. A mostly flat area, which runs along the Auronia River. It's considered the breadbasket of Auronia, as almost 75% of the farmlands are located here. It is also home to most of the population. Cities like Boskamp, Kapoeta, Kosrae and Eelido are all located here, and play a major role in the nation. The capital - Koescad is located just 70km northeast of the plain.
The rest of the east is flat, with occasional swamps and bays. The far south is a bit hillier than the east, and the west transitions back to flat grasslands and smaller steppes and savannas.
The northeast and north is dominated by the steppes, and on the transition from the rainforests on the Kas Mountain, to the steppes, lies to most important economical section of Auronia. The Dateo Municipality is home to 75% of the mines in Auronia, and is home to 95% tungsten, 85% coal, 80% lead, 70% diamond, 65% coal, and 30% of the gold reserves.
There are more than 10 islands off the coast of Auronia, such as the Tusken Island, home to the Tusken people. Another important economic role are the Vivedian Islands. They are located on a underwater oil field, which accounts 97% of all Auronian oil and gas reserves. They are also starting to become a popular tourist attraction.
Auronia, besides the sea territories, has a very low percentage of water out of it's total territory. Major bodies of water include Auronia River, Koescad River, Kostmaa River and the artificially made, Kapoeta Reservoir. Historically, the rivers where used for drinking, washing, bathing, swimming, sailing and most importantly fishing. Auronia River was a excellent connection for the inland tribes towards the sea. Today, the Kapoeta reservoir and some smaller lakes and rivers are used for drinking, while the major river confluences and estuaries are used for ports.
The sea played a major role in the history of Auronia. Since the first days, at least 50% lived within 50 kilometers of the coast. Today, 5 out of 6 cities are located on the coast. The by far most important body of water is the Baile Aurona (Bay of Auronia). It is home to almost 5 million people (22% of Auronia), and it includes cities like Industis, Gourpent, Kostmaa, some of the suburban cities like Ledoven, Gatoped, Lotus, Mourintta. In the largest span of the metropolitan area of the bay it includes cities such as Tuskemaar and Tessed. However, the bay is home to the most important city in all of Auronia, the capital, Koescad. Built on a perfect natural harbor, surrounded by shallow water, Koescad's position enabled it to grow much faster than other cities in Auronia. Trading is crucial through the bay and is home to the 2 international ports serving Auronia.
Other significant bodies of water include the Bay of Vibo, Bay of Viveda, Great Devevente Bay and the R'daren Strait.
Vegetation, Biosphere and Climate
Auronia is a tropical country. It's composed of rainforests, which get a lot of rain, and it also has many grasslands used for agriculture. During the 33-year long colonization of Auronia by Ingerland, the Ingerish started a huge lumber industry and thereby cut down 35% of Auronia's forests. The benefit of it is that today Auronia has much more space available for agriculture, however the ecosystem is destroyed.

Auronia is divided into 30 municipalities or Dosmaa. A few municipalities form a statistical region that is not official in the constitution. Those regions are:
- N - Nore (North) - Boskamp
- V - Vast (West) - Kundebaas
- S - Sure (South) - Koteira
- T - Tensral (Central) - Vibo
- A - Ast (East) - Koescad / Industis
Every inhabited place categorized as city automatically receives a municipality. As of 2019, the municipalities include:
|Vivedian Islands** (Niqloed)||X||VV/NQ||South||11,526.58 km²|
|Zanyar (Cyivt)||X||ZA||Central||3,508.52 km²|
**Unlike every other municipality, which uses it's seat name as the municipality name, Niqloed uses the official name as Vivedian Islands, due to the greater autonomy than other municipalities.
As of the 2018 census, Auronia is home to approximately 22,413,000 people of different cultures. Although Auronia has a variety of different people, the ethnic Auronian people remain a strong majority with 91.7% of the population, which is 20,552,721 people. The next biggest ethnic group are the Tusken people, native to the Tusken Island, totaling to 358,608 people. The remaining are mostly Altavians and Beaumontater people.
The population has been growing steadily, with many ups and downs throughout it's history. Since the first proper census in 2002, the population has been growing steadily at a pace of 2.5%, and the growth is expected to slow down for about 0.2% in the next 10 years. Emigration is not a big problem, but does exist. About 15,000 people leave Auronia each year, and the number has dropped from an astonishing 580,000 during the period between 1988 and 1998. A total of 6 million people left Auronia illegally for hopes of better life, during that time. On the other hand, about 20,000 people come to Auronia, making the migration index positive. Migration within the border of Auronia is, however, a much bigger issue. Due to the high income inequality, many people from the poorer parts of the country move to the richer parts. Most of them choose the capital, other bigger cities and the East region. The country is fighting this issue, and is trying to take a breathe, and slow down the intense over-developing of Koescad and the East region, and focus more on the rest of the country.
The average life expectancy in Auronia is 80.8 years. The number has also increased with the new policies on harmful products such as cigarettes and alcohol
Out of the 22 million people, 10,655,000 (47,5%) live in urban centers throughout the country. There are 11 cities with more than 100,000 people and two of those cities have more than a million residents. About 20% people live in the capital, Koescad.
The religion of Auronia is more diversified then the ethnicity. About 53% have beliefs in Patrialism, however, the number could be much higher. Atheism is fairly high, much more than expected, and is rising at a fast rate. During the history of Auronia, the God was the most important person, and making him unhappy or upset was considered a sin. After the colonial times, people have started to lose faith in religion, and have moved towards realism. Therefore, a quite large presence of atheists/contrics is part of Auronia's religious diversity.

History of Auronian Politics
Dictatorship Rule (1900-2001)
During the dictatorship regime, Auronia was closed off from the world, and no outside contact was made. Trade didn't exist, no cooperation, everything was made inside the nation. This was good for Auronia because it wasn't dependent on other countries. However, this would last only 10-15 years, and the need for other things that couldn't be made in Auronia rose. Since everything function mostly moderately, with minor changes, the economy stayed at the same level for a while.
It quickly joined multiple world organizations, and the most important joining for Auronia was in 2010, when Auronia joined the TCC. This boosted the economy by a high matter.
It currently has a very open connection with the rest of the world, and strives for international cooperation. It is slowly getting on the world stage with a few of companies, which started operating overseas.
Auronia has opened a neighborhood in south Koescad, near it's government offices, and the spots are available for claim under request.

The Formation of the new Auronian Government
As of 2002, Auronia is a constitutional republic, which means the highest act of the country, the Auronian Constitution addresses the way the country should function.
After being a dictatorship for 101 year, and finally receiving some outside help to get rid of the dictatorship, the people were "forced" to attend the 2003 Auronian Voting Campaign, to choose the future of the country.
On the campaign, people voted for a flag, and other symbol that would represent the new Auronia. The first "new" president (or king) was also choosen, and as the most important part, the government of Auronia. People could choose between a republic and monarchy, and choose between different types of the two.
The results where the following ones:
- The flag, coat of arms, anthem, motto, currency and other symbols of the nation were chosen as they stand now. (Could be seen in the table on the top.) This voting part was the most diverse.
- The government was chosen to be a constitutional republic. Due to the fear of another dictatorship-like government like for the past 101 years, the people choose to have a better security from the government. The mostly elderly population kept an eye on the government and the government knew that a unhappy Auronian population could cause a new civil war.
- 78,1% voted for the Constitutional Republic.
- Since a republic was chosen, a president had to be chosen as well. The winning president was Antozh Gauscenam with 57,9% total votes after two rounds of voting. Surprisingly, 6,6% of the votes were invalid in this section, because people voted both for a republic and a king, which doesn't match.
- Alcohol is allowed only for ceremonial and tribal purposes, and for medical purposes if needed. This rule will be abolished in the future, but the minimum age limit would be around 20 years, and the maximum would be 35-40.
- An urban center title in Auronia is given to any city with the 'municipality center' status.
- Koescad is de facto considered the capital of the East Region.
