Delta City (Former City-State of Delta) is a city in the east coast of Neo Delta, in the far south of Archanta, more specifically in Astrasia. The city is home to 684,000 inhabitants who live mostly in its coastal area. The population of Delta city lives isolated from most other cities of the country and the only connection to the city is through the Delta Main Road (DL1). Delta City, or The Delta, as it is called by its inhabitants, has experienced a significant growth in the past decades, changing dramatically its ancient landscape. The Deltese have inhabited the region of the River Delta for more then 4300 years, but the connection with the outer world only happened recently, circa 500 years ago.

Delta City is a de facto independent state, internationally recognized as part of the Commonia country. The citizens of the state have recently starting colonizing other regions of the world, while migration has played an important role when it comes to the growth of the population in the Delta.

Delta City has a temperate climate, with cold winter due to its location close to the Northern Mountains and the Cold Sea. Due to its climate, the vagetation that covers most of the city-state is composed of grassland. The area is also surrounded by rivers, lakes, and islands.

Name

The city is named after the river that flows through its central area, the Delta River. The name of the river, in turn, was given due to the large delta at its ending before it empties into the ocean.
