Elvira Regional Airport (WAAT: ELR, ANACA: BAER) is a city-owned civilian and military airport in Elvira, Sierra (Federal States. Elvira Regional is the oldest continually-operated civilian airport in the state. It is the second-busiest airport in the state. The Airport also hosts the Sierra Air National Guard and is known as Sierra Air National Guard Base.

History

During the 1950s, Elvira Regional had its first runway expanded and a second added, and hosted an airlift and fighter unit. The Air Force operated as Elvira Air Force Base until 1997, when the unit was stood down and turned over solely to the Air National Guard.

Facilities

The terminal was renovated in 2012.

Air National Guard

The Sierra Air National Guard is based at Elvira Regional. The 11th Fighter Wing is the only such unit in the state.

Fronteras Air operates flights to Henderson Airport and Chapman Airport.
