The Ingerish Empire was one of the largest empires in history. It comprises of dominions, colonies, protectorates, mandates and other territories ruled or administered by Ingerland and its predecessor states.

History

The origins of the Ingerish Empire can be traced to 1410, when the Ingerish crown signed an agreement with the Kingdom of Pretany.

The desire to access the lucrative trade in spices, tea, and coffee, led to the establishment of colonies in the XV century.

By the beginning of the XX century, the empire was in decline. A desire to establish a new era of cooperation between states led to the formation of the Ingerish Commonwealth in 1907. This organisation remains the foremost inter-government body in much of the Ingerish-speaking world today.

The formal end of the empire came in 1982, with the independence of Glaster. The remaining Ingerish colonies overseas, such as East Anglesbury, were transformed into overseas territories.
