Jundah Central Station is the primary railway station in Jundah, Tauhon, Federal States. The station is a major ArchRail stop, the terminus for all CapitalRail commuter trains, and the primary transfer point for all four lines of the Jundah Metro Rail. The A. J. Palfrey Bus Terminal connects with the station's north side.

History

The station first opened as a freight terminal and rail yard in June 1894 as Smith Terminal, named after Warren L. Smith, the mayor of Jundah at the time. In 1914, national and regional passenger rail services began using the station. The southern tracks traveled west to Santa Rosita and the present-day Jundah Marine Terminal, and the northern tracks traveled east, eventually turning back south to the Narrows Port Bridge to Stuart. Today, the northern tracks carry traffic north and east of the city, while the southern tracks travel directly to Stuart via the Fleming Tunnel.

Location

Central Station is located the heart of downtown Jundah. Along with the A. J. Palfrey Bus Terminal, it is bounded by Broad Street to the west, Concord Street to the north, and Southwater Boulevard to the southeast. The station lies adjacent to the Williamson Greenway, a linear park built above the Route 28A Tunnel. To the west of the station is Latitude Park and two shopping malls, Latitude Plaza and The Shops at Market Square.
