Kingdom of Pretany (prɛt ɑːn iː; Kalmish: Prenti, Romantian: Prétania) is a Federal Monarchy in central Uletha. Its capital city is the Duchy of St. Richards and largest city is the Duchy of Port Emporia. It borders with Galicia and Unie der Dagelanden to the northeast, Garlis and Ísztianország to the northwest, Sathria to the southwest, Mazan and Suria to the southeast. King David II of St. Marks is the current reigning King of Pretany, with Sean Hamilton as life-term president and Rodney Wallaver as elected prime minister. The large kingdom was founded by the combination of several distinct Petty Kingdoms over the course of 2000 years.
A feudal holdover, some of the kingdoms, specifically Inara, still maintains its own independent monarchy working in conjunction with the pretanic monarchy. One of the oldest kingdoms within the annexed lands, Antigo, rebelled in a bloody uprising and split away creating the Pretanic Faction State. The kingdom now is split with the totalitarian rogue state creating a constant threat to the civility of the remainder of Pretany. The monarchy still federally recognizes Antigo as part of the kingdom of Pretany, even though the faction state has been in a de-facto state of war with the kingdom since 1940. The borders of the Kingdom were once tightly patrolled with large ancient walls to the north, east, and south, and the Egyt Mountains to the west and northwest, keeping out the "barbaric tribes".
Pretany retains a standard of nationalism, independence of resources, and has successfully retained one of the highest GDPs in the world at $8.5 trillion. The country maintains a combination of market economy and a Pretanic welfare model with universal health care and a comprehensive social security system. Pretany has extensive reserves of petroleum, natural gas, crops, minerals, lumber, seafood, fresh water, and hydropower. The crop and lumber industry accounts for around a quarter of the country's gross domestic product, giving it the nickname of the Breadbasket of Uletha.
Geographically speaking, Pretany is currently one of the largest in size and the most populated country in Uletha, spanning the mountainous border of Sathria to the Great Rift Sound, with a population of 176 million people. In the center of the Kingdom sits Pretanic Lake, a large inland sea within a caldera, created by geological forces in conjunction with the Great Rift Sound. In ancient timesThe Petty Kingdoms of Pretany were the main gateway for most of the continent's trade routes through the Egyt Mountains at Westward Gate.

The Kingdom of Pretany compared to its neighbors has a brief history, with the region's first written history from the 3rd century BC. Pretanic Prehistory has been left to the field of archaeology. Pretany's neighbors of Garlis, and Sathria have at least trace written histories dating from the 29th century BC. It had been assumed by historians for hundreds of years the region that would eventually become Pretany, beyond the Egyt Mountains, was a wilderness until the opening of the trade routes, but recent archaeological finds have challenged that assumption. Evidence of pre-historic troop encampments, congruent with the neighboring Old Ionean Empire of Sathria from the 20th century BC was found near Raggleneth in 1994. It is assumed that Pretany was a former frontier, during an ancient military push by the empire.
Tribes of Ava (c. 250 BC-300 AD)
The early history of Pretany is shrouded in mystery. The Athanza Cartis was the first written record of the kingdom by an early explorer from the south named, Ava, born CA 280 BC. His homeland is thought to be somewhere near current day southern coast of Sathria. His epic like poetic writings of the region in 250 BC spoke of the "Garingilog" a massive apocalyptic event that destroyed civilization. Society broke down and the "world", more than likely the region as the tribes knew it, was split into warring sects that eventually lost all of the technology from the old world through their continuous wars. The peoples banded together to form several petty kingdoms that battled each other for control of land and resources. The Garingilog was recorded in the histories of all of the petty kingdoms with slight variations to the legend. Historians believe the myth is attached to an ancient kingdom or empire that may have resided east of the Egyts during the same time as the Sathrian Ionean Empire. The civilization may have been dismantlement by an undocumented war. Ava spoke of 24 waring kings and their gods of various decent and temperament. His writings described that as he traveled north and east he entered a "cold and inhospitable mountainous land and beyond that an endless swampy plain shrouded in a thick fog". Ava described the people of Pretany as "hardy, and as cold as air they breathe. Relentless in their lust of gold and women, and forever enraged from an unknown horrific event that happened a thousand years in the past." He then went on to speak of strange beasts and cannibals that would attack periodically from the hills at night. The people that resided beyond the mountains seemed to live in a state of war and poverty that was in his words, "as eternal as hellfire."
Ava died in a battle after joining a guild in his travels that wound up in a crusade against a horde of 30,000 men from the far east of the tribal lands. His writings were found in 1690 sealed within an unopened tomb in Raggleneth Temple. Archaeological evidence points to various cultures throughout current day Pretany that did exist at the time mentioned in Ava's writings, but the names, ethnic makeup, and actual number of the kingdoms and their kings is debated. There is little to no evidence explaining the origins of the peoples living beyond the Egyt Mountains or why they chose to live in such an environment that was detrimental to human life. The current day genetic population gives varied results with markers from nearly every corner of the globe.
Petty Kingdoms (300-600 AD)
The Great works of Palast, described The Petty Kingdoms of Pretany, written in the 300 AD by a Christic peacekeeping missionary brigade from the region that is now Kalm, gave the first full account incite in to what had over the course of several centuries became a peaceful farming region of six distinct petty kingdoms, a strong contrast to the writings of Ava. This was the first time the word of "Prenti" was used to describe the area, a word rooted deep in mystery surrounding the original scripts of the Kalmish language. The Antigo tribe to the south seemed to be the most influential in politics and government, holding a firm grasp of the lesser advanced five. The Nortians ruled a vast farming region north of Inara Basin within the Great Rift Deltas, the ship building and fishing Inarans, which remained stranded on an island in the middle of Pretanic Lake, the Rags were a quiet gentle people that lived within the forests around present day Raggleneth, the Wacksantan Tribe at the eastern foothills of the Egyts, and the Stribengrad clan which maintained a peaceful, yet hard life in the mountains. The Stribengrad Clan seemed to be newcomers to the region with a language that was impossible to detect. The Antigo tribe maintained absolute control over all territories to the east of the Egyt Mountains. Foreigners and wanderers were not welcome to stay but for only a short time, and many went missing, which kept the rest of the continent virtually blind to the peoples and lands that extended beyond the great mountains. By 360 AD the lands of Pretany were known only to the western half of the continent as an inhospitable maze of mountains and swamps that ended at an endless sea, a land of myth, legend, and fear. Many peoples to the west and south of the Egyts created many legends about dragons, evil kings, and demons that bred in the foggy landscape.
The Great Reformation, Inaran Nation (600-1357 AD)
The Great Reformation started in 600 AD when the "less civilized" peoples from the west, as worded by the Antigoans, were allowed access to the exotic peoples and goods of the east. The Kingdom of Antigo allowed a handful of hopeful merchants to open a trade post at Westward Gate a flat plateau that was used as a path to the east since the time of Ava. The trading post quickly grew into one of the largest cities in the mountainous region and the Great Pretanic trade route allowed people to travel eastward. The peoples of the petty kingdoms revolted when they were introduced to foreign ideas such as individualism and were begotten with a new found sense of freedom and wanderlust. The kingdom of Antigo fell sharply in population during the Seige of Antigo in 840 AD. The quickly expanding Inarans to the north had left their island home and were heavily beating down the door of the Antigoans for horded gold and goods. The Siege lasted for nearly two years until the population of the kingdom nearly starved to death from lack of traders being allowed into the city-state. By 900 AD The Inarans had swept northward into the lands of the Nortians and raided Gurmes and farming villages until the seemingly endless supply of capital ended in a cold unbearable landscape. The Galician and Dagelandic speaking peoples stayed out of harms reach due to their isolation. The Inarans were triumphant and quickly modernized the thinking and technology of the landscape with the introduction of the Inaran Nation, which had full access to the trade routes and were very open to foreign ideas and peoples.
King Albert the VI of Inara wrote the first national constitution in 1039 which gained them "eternal access" to the Nortian city of Port Emporia on the Great Rift Sound. The once small kingdom had exploded into one of the most prosperous empires in the world and the city of Port Emporia, the new capital, grew to a population of nearly 1 million people, the largest east of the Egyts. Working with the southern Inaran peoples in Westward Gate and Raggleneth they grew an empire that rivaled any before it. The Inarans were said to have an army of nearly 400,000 strong and a fleet of navy ships that would span from horizon to horizon. It was at this time they raided small villages to the north through the Sound, and to the west through the Egyts in Sathria. Once again the peoples of Pretany were feared, but this time not for myth and legend, but for their warring nature.
Second Great Reformation, Classical Pretany (1357-1600 AD)
The heyday ended with the Egyt war of 1357 when Duke Beglidere from Norad united the working poor in the kingdom and overthrew the Inaran monarchy and aristocracy, taking Treston the V's place on the throne after the Raid of Port Emporia in 1370. The peoples of Pretany were united for the first time in unison against a tyrannical king , the Federal Monarchy of Pretany came into power in 1372, and the first Constitution of Freedom was drafted in 1378 after the economy and social hierarchy was united in catholic faith and the capital moved to the newly formed Duchy of St. Richards and they formed the catholic papacy there, a Nortian religion to which he converted. The Kingdom of Pretany officially drew it's international borders in 1402 after land dealing with neighboring nations and placing the remaining peoples faithful to the Inaran nation on a prison reservation on their original island in the center of Pretanic Lake. King Beglidere, who was ironically from Norad, argued for the ethnic rights of the "pretanic people" living in neighboring kingdoms in 1423. He spent nearly the entire royal treasury on a massive public works project called the Walls of Pretany that involved building 20 foot high walls for miles in the wilderness, on the northern and western borders of Pretany to keep the kings of Garlis from challenging his reign and invasion from the tribes of Mazan and Galicia. People living within the walls surrounding the kingdom called themselves the "Pretanic Peoples Kingdom" until the end of the 15th century. In the year 1410, Ingerland was looking for a place to transport its prisoners from its overcrowded cities. Pretany was a prime target for Ingerland due to the massive walls already in place. To avoid a war and full out invasion from Ingerland's massive military, King Beglidere signed the Declaration of Ingerish Penal Ownership. The declaration allowed Inglerland to build a series of prison forts throughout the country. Once nearly 400,000 prisoners were transported, Ingerland's military retreated, leaving the prisoners in pretanic control, and a period of Isolationism increased as surrounding countries started to place pressure on Pretany to allow trading rights to resources in the land rich nation. The military stance of the Beglidere monarchy tightened throughout the early 15th century and eventually most of the surrounding nations accepted a hands off stance to the large nation that occupied a large chunk of the central continent.
The reign of the "worthless kings" commenced, starting with Beralt, King Beglidere's son. Little is known of the happenings during the Pretanic "dark ages". They started roughly after the signing of the formal constitution of Inara in 1431 and ending formerly with the death of King Depfry of Lorranium in 1745, but most of the royal budget was strictly spent on military and lavish lifestyles for the royal family. The writing of city Annals was strictly forbidden by the crown in 1444 by King Gabriel of Port Emporia to keep state information from leaking to foreign governments and until their reinstatement in 1750. This has led to an extreme simplification of Pretanic history in that time frame. Historians know that during the period there was an extreme population explosion of Ingerish prisoners, and 30 or more attempted revolts leading to the Great Revolt of 1745, but not much is known about the leaders of said revolts or how successful each one was until the final one. It is also known that between 1357 and 1700 several waves of Franquese speaking ethnic Nortians emigrated from the country, probably due to increasing poverty caused by superfluous royal spending. One well known reason, was the emigration to Pretanic Archanta, a colony that became a cash cow for the Beglidere dynasty. More information began to be written down in the 1590s, but it is known that King Bedlidere was a Great Great grandfather when he died. Those generation of kings were well known to have spent lavish amounts of money on themselves, never leaving St. Richards. The country suffered greatly in response.
Modern Kingdom (1600-present)
Pretany advanced into the industrial era with the production of the largest forests within the region. Pretany had always been a frontier of Uletha, but as population expanded by 1650 the inland forests were being quartered off as both royal forests and timber land, lumbered by Ingerish prisoners. Millions of acres of the country were converted to practical use and by 1700 most of the virgin forestland had become home to the largest state run timber production line in the world. Revolts were beginning to take place in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, such as the Rag Revolt of 1725, and King Depfry of Lorranium became the last isolationist king. Most for the royal navy, homes, and exportation to countries west of the Egyt Mountains. The population grew to 2 Million by 1730 as the first census of the kingdom was taken.
The power structure of the Kingdom came into question in 1745 when during the Great Revolt when 12,000 members of the former Nortian Tribe burned the city of St. Genevieve to the ground after king Depfry refused to grant independence to the northern mainly nortian-identifying Shires. The king was beheaded in the same year. This brought about great international shame and his successor King Christian of Raggleneth decided to formally end Pretany's standard of isolationism in response. He went on a massive 20 year campaign of border crossing building and most of the great Westwall was torn down between Garlis and Pretany. Funds ran short before the North and Northeast wall could be demolished, the mountainous areas between the two countries became royal forest land. Trade rights were then granted for Ingerland, Sathria, Garlis, and Kalm. The economy exploded in response.
By the 1770 census Pretany had grown to 7 Million with the end of the Penal Trade Agreement of 1765 when all Ingerish prisoners were set free in Pretany. A massive wave of Ingerish culture spread throughout the kingdom. Vassalage had been gradually fading out through the 17th century, but in 1780 the entire serfdom structure was abolished after the Reformation of Serfs, officially ending the feudal era in Pretany. The duchies were reformed into shires and most of the aristocracy of the kingdom became figureheads instead of ruling lords. King Christian of Raggleneth became well renowned for being the kind that brought Pretanic culture to the world. This shift forever changed the way Pretany handled foreign relations. The Nortian Tribe no longer sought it's independence in a new political climate and most of the individual tribal cultural groups merged into one cohesive national identity, except the Antigoans who remained skeptical.
The Pretanic-Galician War cost the kingdom copious amounts of the treasury during a 15 year campaign starting in 1790 after a ground occupation in the northern shires, the two countries called a cease fire after 3000 people were killed in a deadly fire after the city of Geradic was burned to the ground. The two countries reconciled and a peace treaty was signed in 1818 redrawing the northern border.
In 1934, tensions between the disenfranchised Antigo shire headed to a boil, The shire had been in talks for ages to break away from the crown due to a higher tax in the more rural desert area of the kingdom, and had been a political problem since the 18th century unification. Local politician, John Briarmack, quickly rose to prominence as a force that could challenge the crown in St. Richards, fighting for the ethnic rights of descendants of the Antigo Tribe. It was a blatantly treasonous political attempt to mirror Duke Beglidere from the 14th century. His tactic worked with millions of Antigo citizens rallying around his seemingly impossible campaign. When word spread to the capital, the Royal National Guard sent in 2000 troops into Antigo to put a stop to the rebellion in March, 1936. They were overcome by the large militia that had formed and many were killed, or taken prisoner. While King Durgan hurried to come to a diplomatic solution with Antigo, 4,000 Antigoan militia troops with stolen royal tanks rolled deep into Rockatresston on the Pretanic Lake shore and attacked the courthouse with several rounds of ammunition, completely destroying it, and taking hostage several civilians in the city. The 29 January, 1939 siege, became known as the Attack on Rockatresston. St. Richards quickly dropped 3,000 paratroopers into the city and along with ground forces pushed the rebel forces back into the shire of Antigo. Threats of a complete attack with two stolen nuclear warheads on the capital, and the capital bombing terrorist attack in Port Battle from newly crowed supreme leader John Briarmack, led King Durgan to come to a diplomatic agreement with the newly formed faction. A massive 300 mile long militarized wall was built along the Antigo border and the Pretanic Faction State was born. The world has since condemned the faction state for brutalization of it's civilians with coercion and force, and a dictatorship that has led a starving population of 18 million people. The Pretanic Faction State militarized border is the longest militarized border in the world, guarded by the Pretanic Border Patrol, a branch of the Pretanic Army. The breakaway of Antigo was the first time since the 18th century that the country was in a de-facto civil war.
In 1945, Pretany made a massive shift to the left, enacted strong socialist policies and dissolved it's monarchical powers to a constitution and parliament to prevent future uprisings. This made King Durgan the last monarch in Pretany with any real power other than ceremonial duties.
In 2005, the 8.2 magnitude Port Emporia Rift Earthquake, centered on the Great Rift Sound caused $12 billion USD in damage. Port Emporia was nearly completely destroyed in an ensuing firestorm that burned over 70% of the city and required a massive rebuilding of the city. On 18 March 2006, a Pretanic Royal Police Agency report confirmed 9,800 deaths, 4,012 injured, and 1,100 people missing across twenty suburbs in Port Emporia, as well as 120,163 people living away from their home in either temporary housing or due to permanent relocation. A 11 March 2008 agency report listed 100,150 buildings totally collapsed, with a further 392,450 buildings 'half collapsed', and another 811,019 buildings partially damaged. The earthquake also caused extensive and severe structural damage in north-eastern Pretany, including heavy damage to roads and railways as well as fires in many areas. Pretanic Prime Minister said, "Since the end of the break away with Antigo, this is the toughest and the most difficult crisis for Pretany." Around 5.4 million households in northeastern Pretany were left without electricity and 1.5 million without water. After the earthquake, the city was quickly rebuilt with an eye pleasing grid system. The plans for the modern city of Port Emporia were first displayed for public viewing in a theatre building. The dream was to create a capital that would boost the morale and ego of Pretans in for years. The result was a city with wide, tree-lined boulevards and monumental public buildings with terraced landscaping, mosaics and decorated ceilings. Foreign visitors have described Port Emporia as one of the most beautiful cities they have seen; its modern high rise architecture makes it one of those modern looking cities in northwest Uletha, a part of the world known for it's centuries old walled cities, and In summer, it is notable for its rivers, willow trees, flowers and parkland.
Purgatio Nortia (1039-1700 AD)
The Nortian Tribe was closely related to tribal ethnic groups in Garlis, in eastern Kalm, and southwestern Ísztianország, with tribal migrations happening in prehistory. Darcodia, Ispelia, Karolia, Florescenta, and Vartasimalia were five countries already colonized during the prehistory of Pretany by the Nortian Tribe between 300-400 AD. The circumstances surrounding the ancient migrations were unknown, possibly a population explosion that required outward migration and over-consumption of resources during that time. Once the Inaran Nation invaded the Nortian city states in the north a massive genocide began. It is estimated that 500,000- 1 milion Nortian tribal members existed in collective city states throughout the 1st millennium AD, north of the Inara Basin. The Purgatio Nortia or Nortian Clearances were the forced displacement and expulsion during the Inaran Reign of a significant number of people from traditional land tenancies in the Great Rift Deltas, where they had practiced small-scale agriculture for centuries. by the time Duke Beglidere appeared in 1357, only 50,000 Nortian members were left on their ancestral lands. Not only was the Romantian speaking culture expunged from the Deltas, they were expelled from Pretany in a wave of exoduses that was only seen later during the Ingerish colonization efforts. Countries founded, populated, or colonized during the expulsion were, Astura, Legonia, Sathria, and a significant number of emigrants arrived in Castellán by 1066. Castellán went on to colonize several countries of its own further spreading Romantian variations. The Clearances resulted in significant emigration of Nortians to the southern and Eastern coasts of Uletha. Romantian evolved slowly into Franquese during the clearances by populations that remained hidden within the hill lands of central Northwest Pretany. Between 1357 and 1700 several more waves of Franquese speaking ethnic Nortians emigrated and colonized Alora, Ataraxia, Akinyaka, Beaudry, Gobrassanya, Inretsk, Lorredion, Paroy, Picard, Meridonia and Surricy. Signs of the Nortian Clearances are seen everywhere in Northern Pretany. Many of the cities and Shires in northern Pretany are rooted in Romantian and Franquese history and named locations and the spreading of the catholic faith. In the early 21st century, more descendants of the Nortian Tribe and of original Romantian descent are found in these diaspora destinations than in Northern Pretany itself.
Colonization of Looredion
The first French settlers from the Kingdom of Pretany settled in 1359 at the extremity of the Peninsula Faltaise and founded the colony of Nouvelle-Emporia (now Péroidin). On the Asperian coast, numerous of more or less permanent Franquese colonies succeeded one another. During the 14th century, nearly 50,000 settlers predominantly pretanic, settled in the present province of Ponant in Lorredion, Surricy and in the south Tagarlot. The settlers did not face an important local population in this area, which was virtually unpopulated at that time. However, migrants and indigenous peoples share the land without any conflict, on the contrary, commercial ties are established between the settlers and the tribes and their population is gradually mixing. From the beginning of the 15th century, a second wave of immigration led by rich franquèse merchant, will be installed on the coast of the Sea of Zylanda. This second wave will be much less peaceful than the previous, the migrants will exploit and plunder the local tribes. Despite some vain attempts by the local tribes to resist, they will be almost decimated and the survivors will be forced into slavery. In 1455, the leader of the Asperic Confederation, George de Sablet, wishing to conquer the east of Lorredion which has more resources and wealth, and impose its model of non-slavery society attacks East Confederation in Rivador. Taken by surprise, The East Confederation is widely beaten and must retreat further east, 5,000 slaves are released during this battle. George de Sablet was crowned king on 13 June 1455 in Rivador capital of the new independent state of Aspery. During the year 1455 and 1456 asperic troops continued pushing eastward the East Confederation before its advance was stopped in September 1446 during the battle of the Tumulte by the troops of Dil Saint-Maur.
During the year 1457, Dil Saint-Maur succeeded in pushing the Asperic army back towards the west. Feeling that the situation completely escapes him, the Kingdom of Pretany sends during the same year nearly 10,000 soldiers to support the Confederation against Aspery, for restoring order and making this territory a Pretanic colony. On 3 July 1458 the troops of the Confederation and Pretany crushed the army of Aspery during the bloody battle of Lindor at the gates of Rivador. The capital of the Aspery will be taken the following week despite a fierce resistance of the inhabitants of Rivador loyal to George de Sablet. On the 10th of July, the fall of Rivador rings the end of the Aspery. Fleeing to Oromon, George de Sablet will be delivered to the soldiers Pretanic on November 20 by his General Ernest-Jean Legedas, which means the end of the War of confederations. He was imprisoned in the donjon of the Citadel in Rivador until his death in 1460.
On December 20 1458, the Kingdom of Pretany formally founded its new colony called Territory of Pretanic Archanta. The Confederation is dismantled and its leaders and army are integrated into the operation of the new Territory led by the new governor Ernest-Jean Legedas who delivered George de Sablet and close to the King of Pretany. Pretanic Archanta is subdivided into 8 provinces: Ponant, Apreterres, Trinité, Domanie, Haute-Enclave, Costamar, Surricie and Tagarlot and is counted at the time of its foundation 500,000 inhabitants including 20,000 slaves whom Pretanic Archanta did not release during the dismantling of the Confederation. Dil Saint-Maur is dismissed from the governance of Pretanic Archanta, by the Pretanic crown who finds him too bellicose to direct their new colony.
Following his sidelining, Dil Saint-Maur felt betrayed by the Kingdom of Pretany that he had helped to regain control of the territory of Pretanic Archanta, launched a revolt during the month of May 1459: Revolt of the Confederates. During this terrible month, riots and clashes took place in the streets of the capital Rivador, the power in place just rejected the rebels. Nearly 5,000 people were killed, including Dil Saint-Maur, which marked the end of the Revolt of the Confederates.
After the founding of the territory of Pretanic Archanta, the Kingdom of Pretany undertook a massive immigration policy in order to reinforce its power in its new colony. In fact from 1460 to 1500 there were nearly 200,000 new arrivals from Pretany who settled in Pretanic Archanta. The successive governors of Pretanic Archanta took radical measures to avoid any new revolts, and every beginning of protest was repressed very violently and a reign of terror settles gradually.
During the 16th century, the policy of terror led by the Pretanic Archanta government greatly enriched rich merchants, while the great majority of the population became increasingly poor in the service of the merchants. At the end of the 16th century, the population of Pretanic Archanta is estimated at 2,000,000 inhabitants: about 150,000 rich (merchants, landowners and lords), 350,000 slaves, and 1,500,000 other inhabitants work for a small heavily taxed wage and live very poor. During this period of great poverty many inhabitants left Pretanic Archanta for Zylanda or the northern Ardisphere.
In 1655, the Asperic Company will play a very important role in the takeover of power in Zylanda by Gerald Bretigny, financing a large party of its mercenary army. The Company negotiates in return for its aid trade agreements even more favorable in Zylanda. Worried by the demonstration of strength of the Company in Zylanda, the Kingdom of Pretany replaces in 1957 the governor Lans de Villador by Danne Chantocq to the head of Pretanic Archanta. Upon his accession to power, Danne Chantocq broke the monopoly agreements concluded 5 years earlier. Furious, Albort Saintoque will again lead a financial war to Pretanic Archanta. It is supported by part of the Army, which finds that the current administration has become weak, and by a large part of the population that the company has made it less poor by offering them better paying jobs than before. But Danne Chantocq did not allow himself to be attacked, on January 2 1658 he attacked the port of the Trinité at Rivador, the headquarters of the Asperic Company, but Albort Saintoque, supported by part of Pretanic Archanta's army, would repulse the loyalist troops.
Soon joined by many partisans hostile to the power in place Albort Saintoque is now at the head of a new independence movement whose goal is to drive the administration of Pretany out of the territory. The independentist besieged Rivador on 25 April 1658 for nearly 6 months and ended with the flight of Governor Danne Chantocq to the Apreterres. Beginning 1659, all of Pretanic Archanta's South is freed from the yoke of Pretany Kingdom. But Danne Chantocq, who had resisted so far, went against attack in the spring of 1659, supported by nearly 40,000 soldiers of Pretany who came to reinforce the loyalist army. September 8 after the battle of Vissante lost by the independentists, the loyalist troops arriving at the gates of Rivador stopped by Albort Saintoque and by a contingent of Zylanda come helped the Independant troops. The turn of this war will take place in February 1660 during the second battle of Vissante where the 45,000 loyalist and Pretanic soldiers will be put to flight by the 60,000 independentist and soldiers of Zylanda after a week of fierce fighting. The loyalist army will again be defeated at Ilune in March and at Oyrick in June. Danne Chantocq was taken prisoner on June 24. After an abortive attempt to disembark a Pretanic army in Ponant which was soon rejected, the Kingdom of Pretany signed with the Independentist the end of the war on January 8, 1661.
Albort Saintoque is crowned king of the country Lorredion, March 5, 1661 in Rivador. It is named like that in homage to Lorre first man to have gathered the peoples of this territory in the same independent country. The Asperic Compagny is nationalized. The young state of Lorredion loses the Province of Haute-Enclave to the benefit of Zylanda who claimed his due after the end of the war. Albort Saintoque accepted reluctantly because he could not afford a new conflict with his former ally Gerald Bretigny. Danne Chantocq and the other prisoners of Pretanic army will be expelled from Lorredion in 1662.
The population of Pretany was 176,007,900 in 2014, with 65% living in urban centers. The median age in Pretany is 36.
Pretany claims home to 4 local and 15 international ethnic groups.
Ingerish is the official and predominant spoken language in Pretany, has been since 1850, and spoken by 90.5% of the inhabitants. Standard Pretanic now a minority, spoken by 5.7% exclusively and 40% secondarily, was the official vernacular of the Pretanic people for over a thousand years and was probably introduced by some sort of early Ulethian migration during the 4th century AD, possibly earlier. Ingerish grew in popularity due to both the release of Ingerish prisoners on penal camps in the pretanic forests in the 18th century and globalization of corporations in the 19th century.
Recognized native minority languages in Pretany are Franquese, and Inaran; they are officially protected by the Pretanic Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Franquese was introduced by the politically oppressed Nortian Tribe in the early-mid 1300s from the Romantian tribal Nortian language and is now spoken exclusively by 1.2% of the population, notably in and around Maximo Turim and St. Richards. Dagelandic is spoken by 1.1% primarily near the border cities around the northwestern arm of the Great Rift Sound, close to, Unie der Dagelanden. The remainder speak the Galician language in the northern arm of North Grave near Galicia, and Mazanic in lower Trinity.
Standard Pretanic is a Kalmish-Ingerish language and is closely related to and classified alongside Ingerish. To a lesser extent, it is also related to the (extinct) early Kalmish languages from early trade route immigrants.
Due to shared heritage, Pretany, Ingerland, and Kalm traded prisoners throughout the centuries to be kept in camps in the forests of Pretany. This ended with the Penal Trade Agreement of 1765 when most prisoners were set free in Pretany. A massive wave of Ingerish culture then spread throughout the kingdom. Pretany was always an anchor to the west with many peoples traveling out to settle throughout the centuries. The first wave of colonists from Pretany were to Neberly in the 14th century, and then to Wiwaxia during Queen Eglantine I reign in the newly fledged country after it's independence from Ingerland. During the Nortian Clearances an estimated 1 million Nortian tribal members were displaced globally, colonizing most of the Romantish world.
Law and criminal justice
Pretany over the centuries transformed itself from an isolationist military kingdom into a beacon of international unity. Several border crossings were built in the 18th century with names such as "unity" and "peace". St. Richards is host to The Assembly of Nations (AN), an intergovernmental organization made up of almost every country in the world. Its mission is to facilitate communication and foster cooperation between governments worldwide; to promote international understanding, peace and prosperity; and to defend the human rights and individual freedoms of people everywhere. To further these ends the AN administers a wide range of programs around the globe, including peacekeeping missions, security collaboration projects, human rights campaigns, economic and social development projects, environmental awareness and protection activities, as well as humanitarian missions for populations in crisis.
The four doves found on the AN seal and emblem symbolize peace in all four directions of the compass, in all four corners of the world.
Uniquely among international organizations, AN membership is based on an "opt-out" system rather than the traditional "opt-in." By default, all independent sovereign states are automatically considered to be members of the AN, unless they explicitly reject membership.
The Assembly building is located on Jada Island, in the Duchy of St. Richards, within the Kingdom of Pretany since 1966.
Pretany has a diverse geography. The country, even with its post industrial population, remains mostly a vast forested plain dotted by several connecting cities. The country has a land area of 1,107,450 km2, making it one of the largest in Uletha. The country is surrounded by the west and northwest by the Egyt Mountains which slowly level off into forested plains as it heads farther north. In the center of the country lies the ancient caldera of the Inara Basin with its dramatic drop in elevation. In the northeast the country remains marshy and traversed by several rivers in the Great Rift Deltas as they flow into the Great Rift Sound. In the southern parts of Trinity the country flattens into the barren savannahs and deserts toward Mazan south of the Barsas River. The country is host to two of the longest rivers in the world, the Baras and Turpis Rivers. Pretany lies on ancient bedrock that was formed during a cataclysm that split the continent in half 15 Million years ago. The Egyt Mountains were also raised during this period. South of the Inara Basin the Rickorack Plateau raises to form the northern border of the Pretanic Faction State. Mt. Polashin is one of the tallest mountains on the continent at 5444 feet forming the pinnacle of the plateau. Sitting between two tectonic plates, both eastern and western Pretany are subject to significant earthquakes. There are also several Royal Parks of Pretany.
The size of Pretany and the remoteness of most of the country from the sea result in the dominance of the humid continental climate, which is prevalent in all parts of the country except for an oceanic climate directly located around the Great Rift Sound. Mountains in the southwest obstruct the flow of warm air masses from the Western Ocean, while the flat delta plain of the east makes the country open to Northern Ice Sea influences. Most of Northern Pretany has an Oceanic climate, with severe winters in the inner regions of Northwest Pretany.
The coastal parts on the Pretanic Lake, most notably in Inara, possess a temprate climate with cold winters and hot summers due to low elevation. The beaches of Blackumbria are only accessible for two months out of the year.
Dfa -Humid continental climate-Hot/warm summer subtype (Southwest Pretany - except southern parts of Trinity)Cfb -Western Oceanic climate (Northeast Pretany - near Great Rift Sound) BSk -Cold semi-arid climates(southern parts of Trinity, near Perm River.)
Pretany is divided to 16 main territories called shires, 3 city-states or vestige duchies, and 1 one dual monarchy known as a city-state petty kingdom.

The core culture of Pretany is derived from anglo-Ulethian culture, because of its strong trade and cultural ties to the western continent. Among other influences, the western continent introduced the Ingerish language, and Catholicisms. The culture was, however, also strongly influenced by Kalmish culture at its founding, indigenous, and non-Pretanese eastern Ulethian cultures and traditions.
Some aspects of Pretanic culture were influenced by the contributions of Garlis, Sathria and later Ulethian immigrants who arrived in large numbers in the South and Southeast of Westward Gate. The indigenous kingdoms influenced most of the Pretanic language and cuisine due to its isolationist nature until the 18th century.
Pretanic art has developed since the 4th century into different styles that range from Romanesque (the dominant style in Pretany until the early 15th century) to Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism, Modernism, Expressionism, Cubism, Surrealism and Abstractionism. Pretanic cinema dates back to the birth of the medium in the late 19th century and has gained a new level of international acclaim since the 1920s out of St. Genevieve, a french speaking alcove in a Ingerish speaking area.
The Pretanic people enjoy one of the highest GDP per-capita in the world. Today, Pretany ranks as the wealthiest country in the world in monetary value, with the largest capital reserve per capita of any nation. Pretany is currently a net external creditor of debt. Pretany maintained first place in the world in the UNDP Human Development Index (HDI) for 4 consecutive years (2000-2004), and then reclaimed this position in 2014. The standard of living in Pretany is among the highest in the world. Foreign Policy Magazine ranks Pretany last in its Failed States Index for 2010, judging Pretany to be one of the world's most well-functioning and stable countries. Based on continued crop and lumber exports, coupled with a healthy economy and substantial accumulated wealth, Pretany is expected to continue as among the richest countries in the world in the foreseeable future.
The Pretanic economy is an example of a mixed economy, a prosperous capitalist welfare state and federal monarchy country featuring a combination of free market activity and large state ownership in certain key sectors. Public health care is free, and parents have 46 weeks paid parental leave. The state income derived from natural resources includes a significant contribution from crop production. Pretany has a very low unemployment rate, currently 2.6%. 69% of the population aged 15–74 are employed. Persons in the labour force are either employed or unemployed. The remaining group of persons is labelled not in the labour force. 9.5% of the population aged 18–66 is receiving disability pension and 30% of the labour force are employed by the government, the highest in the OECD. The hourly productivity levels, as well as average hourly wages in Pretany, are among the highest in the world.
The egalitarian values of Pretanic society have kept the wage difference between the lowest paid worker and the CEO of most companies as much less than in comparable economies.
Export revenues from crop and lumber have risen to almost 50% of total exports and constitute more than 20% of the GDP. Pretany is the fifth-largest oil exporter and third-largest gas exporter in the world. In 1975 the Pretanic government established the sovereign wealth fund, which would be funded with crop revenues, including taxes, dividends, sales revenues and licensing fees. This was intended to reduce overheating in the economy from crop revenues, minimize uncertainty from volatility in crop price, and provide a cushion to compensate for expenses associated with the aging of the population.
The government controls its mineral resources through a combination of state ownership in major operators in the oil fields in North Grave. Finally, the government controls licensing of exploration and production of all lumber from the central and southern forested regions. The fund invests in developed financial markets outside Pretany. The budgetary rule is to spend no more than 4% of the fund each year (assumed to be the normal yield from the fund).
Science and technology
Pretany became a founder in the World Organization for Research in Physics in 1964, founding the Pretanic Royal Organization of Physics (PROP)in Aderland. A 2.3 km diameter circular accelerator Pretanic Royal Organization of Physics Alpha Accelerator (PROPAA), staffed by of Pretanic Royal Organization of Physics University (PROPU), was built at an expense of 4.6 Billion. WORP's main function is to coordinate internationally the use of particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research – as a result, numerous experiments have been constructed at WORP member facilities leading to important international collaboration.
