Mennowa is a constituent state in the central region of the Federal States of Archanta. It is north of the Grand Lakes and is bordered to the east by one of the most prominent rivers in the country.

Etymology

The name "Mennowa" comes directly from the Mennowee people, who inhabited much of the present state prior to settlement from the east and south.

History

Prior to the 19th century, the native Mennowee people settled a large section of Mennowa, spanning from the northern regions of Mennowa to the southern panhandle of the state, where there is current tribal lands and recorded demographics of Mennowee residences in the north-east of the state and the very northern tip.

During the early 19th century, Mennowa began to become the historical crossroads for the Federal States as settling caravans and trails moved north-west, following the eastern border river. Two important trails in this regard was a Franquese wagon train following the eastern river to the north, and an Ingerish wagon train moving directly north-west over hilly and mountainous terrain. Most of the settlement trails began from the banks of Lake Leighton, located to the extreme south of Mennowa.
