OGF:Geolympiad Bids

This page is a consolidated place to manage bids for OpenGeofiction cities to bid to host Geolympic Games (both Summer and Winter). We recently completed a bidding process for the 2016 Summer Geolympiad, and we are now extending a similar bidding process to past games in a "retroactive" bidding process.

Rather than try to queue up individual games one by one, this site will allow users to submit bids for whatever games they are interested in.

Voting can be conducted as bids are submitted, and can be closed when a certain minimum number of bids and/or votes are received (disucss? 2 bids minimum? 20 votes minimum?).

For general discussion about the format of this page, about the rules and standards of the Geolympiad games and the bid process, use the Talk:OGF:Geolympiad Bids page. For discussion of individual bids, use the discussion sections attached to each individual bid below. Don't forget to "sign" your votes and comments, using the "--~~~~" syntax! Unsigned votes and comments or those made outside of the table structure may be removed, to keep this page as "clean" as possible. |-

The park will still have an important place in the modern city. Many venues are since then upgraded, transformed or have been demolished or replaced. Pirindi, Guai	Bid	vote here	I have started working on building venues to give some sights to the western part of Pirindi. These will be used for mapping more urban features (streets, buildings, parks...). I chose 1932 as I imagine Guai hosting smaller-scaled Games back in those days: less disciplines and less participating nations allowed a small but rich country (as Belgium or the Netherlands did in the early 20th century) to host the Geolympics. Inspiration comes from Olympic venues and Universal Exhibitions of the first 4 decades of the 20th century.--Aiki (talk) 21:33, 17 September 2017 (CEST)
