OGF:Quick territory descriptions

This is a place where mappers can briefly describe their territories using 280 characters or less, so that others can quickly get a sense of the 'vision' for each territory.

  • Please, no blue territories for now. Purple territories may be described by coordinators.
  • Please do not add a territory until it has a significant amount of mapping developed.
Territory Quick description
Adariaflag.png Adaria In the southeastern tip of Gwynian, Adaria is a loose federation of 3 culturally diferentiated states united by their will of independence in the 18th century. There, Catanese, Castellanese and Nihonese speakers developed a language due to their needs of communication.
Flag of Antharia.png Antharia Central Ulethan nation, somewhat based on what Romania would have looked like today if it didn't experience communism (1948-1989). Each region has different influences, including Eganian (Greek-ish), Slavic, Turkish, Proto-Romanian, Hebrew and other European cultures. More»
Rusky.jpg Antigo A mix of elements from various dictatorial states (i.e. North Korea or the USSR) and dystopian works as well. It claims to be socialist and was formerly part of Pretany, to which it is hostile. See OGF:Antigo for details.
Aorangëa flag.svg Aorangēa Federation consisting of several nations. Languages: English, Pseudo-Polynesian and some minority languages. Ingerish settlers, but only partly a former colony. Mapping stlye, street layout and infrastucture based on Western Europe. More»
Luciano Flag FA.png Ardisphere Ardisphere is inspired by Latin America, with a much broader multicultural twist, including autonomous language regions for Korean, Welsh, various native languages (including "real" and conlang), Georgian, Romanian, etc. It ranges from tropical wet-dry forest to desert.
Bonavista Flag.png Bonavista A small island nation based on the islands of the Lesser Antilles, Réunion, and Mauritius.
Cascande-flag.png Cascande A small special land. Formerly a theocratic regime, today here is freedon to study all aspects of religiosity in calme athmosphere. And too an exil for all with enought money.
Castilea Archantea.svg Castilea Archantea A well-developed tropical country, with an ancient history. Full of mountains, rivers, forests and fertile valleys, this country is a mixture of ancient traditions and modernity. Its wide climate range due to the high northern and central mountains allows a lot of botanic and faunistic diversity. Its wonderful cities, such as Edetanea, Adra, Basti,..., are powerful touristic areas. We are looking forward to your visit!
Duncanheim Flag.png Duncanheim The terrain varies between coastal lowlands, river valleys, and forested mountains rich in silver. Originally a small confederation of tribes, now modernized without losing its old traditions, this nation stands alone, but with a friendly smile and probably a new laptop to sell you.
Drabantia flag.png Drabantia The heart of Central Uletha, with a diverse landscape ranging from cold, rocky coastlines to mountains full of mineral springs and lush, fertile lowlands to deep coniferous forests, Drabantia is a modern Ulethan nation. Inspired by the Czech Republic with a slight boreal twist.
East Anglesbury flag.png East Anglesbury Ingerish overseas territory. Mapping style like Aorangēa which it shares a land border with, but less native and more colonial influence. Decided to remain colony when Aorangēa became fully independent. More»
Esthyra flag.svg Esthyra A small country sitting on the southwest corner of the Kaspen Sea, with a flourishing economy. Plenty of ancient forests preserved have established a natural lifestyle for the citizens. Partially based on Canada (Especially Québec).
Glaster Flag.png Glaster A small country in eastern Uletha with a stagnating economy. The southern portion was formally an Ingerish colony until unification in 1979. Hence the southern part is based around 1980s Britain, with the north being more eastern European. There is quite a stark north-south divide.
Pontus-flag.png Grey Coast Grey Coast is a first-world Antarephian nation and regional power in the frigid Harda Archipelago. A former Ingerish colony and a member of the Commonwealth, Grey Coast is well-developed and has beautiful landscapes, including the Kanata Islands and the Greyson River Valley. The nation speaks Ingerish and the native Grisean language, an isolate only found in the north of Harda Major.
Iscu.png Iscu Former tiny island republic in the northern Asperic Ocean, currently AN Territory after government collapse, poor and developing, many atolls and one main island with most of the population, inspired by pacific islands.
Karolia flag.png Karolia Central Ulethan federal republic, famous for music, bicycle culture and historic cities as well as mountains in the north. Karolia is roughly a mixture of Finland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
Karvaland flag.png Karvaland A first-world nation inspired in part by the demographics and geography of the Union of South Africa.
Khaiwoon flag.png Khaiwoon A busy hub of world trade, crowded, capitalist and cosmopolitan, maybe like Singapore or Hong Kong, but inspired by diverse Asian influences from the Middle East to Japan, mixed in with a few random Western bits, plus an original language and script thrown in for fun.
Kojo flag ddtuga.png Kojo A developed "old-world" country with a rich history, situated on the Axian peninsular in south-east Uletha.
KovatanyFlag.svg Koyatana A relatively poor landlocked nation based on similar countries like Lesotho, with a language and cultures based on Malagasy.
Flag of Kuehong.png Kuehong A (non-communist but militaristic) Vietnamese state with other subtle Southeast Asian elements (such as Malaysian geography). Has a stronger Chinese influence than RW Vietnam with a sizeable Chinese (Bai) community in the country.
Latflag.png Latina High developed country with busy towns as Latina (Ciudad), Cordoba or Porto Colon and on the other hand woods, beaches and cattle-farms. "Made in Latina" is known worldwide for quality. Feel free to visit us.
Leressoflag.png Leresso A small, but influential classical republic in Western Antarephia, known for its long history, rich culture, diverse geography, and unique blend between past and present. Its storied past and bright future make it a gem of a country to visit.
Litvenska Flaga.jpg Litvania Litvania is a hidden gem located in central Uletha. Inspired by Slovakia, Poland, Switzerland and in smaller part by other countries, it is a first world country popular with tourists. The economy is not at all strong in other aspects, apart from the number of crates of beer exported per annum. For more, see Litvania.

Meridonia flag.png Meridonia Mountainous micro-state surrounded by Karolia, with economy mostly based on being a tax haven. Winter sports also important.

New Ingerland.png New Ingerland A first-world nation based on the settler countries of the southern hemisphere, with a particular emphasis on New Zealand and Australia.
ParoyFlag.png Paroy A first-world nation in southern Tarephia, with beautiful mountainous tropical inland, subtropical coastal regions and a colonial history. Based on Canada, the UK and the Netherlands.
Podoliaflag.png Podolian Republic Landlocked country in the central Uletha, with Slevic language and people. The government is socialist since the takeover and overthrow of monarchy in 1943. The climate is temperate. Eastern European Slavic countries served as inspiration.
Reeland flag.svg Reeland Social democratic developed country. Former colony. Loosely based on Germany, The Netherlands and Nordic countries. Mostly populated on the north, most developed on the northwest. Has minimum military interventions on other countries.
Bandera de San Marcos.png San Marcos Similar to a Spanish Brazil. Castellanese kingdom make it independent and settled a branch of its monarchy in the country which is still reigning today. Castellán also give to San Marcos its possessions in that area (like in Philippine and Mariana, Guam... in an idyllic situation); some of them today are independent countries (like Plazafuerte) and others are still under saintmarkinian rule (like Trinity island and the Henge)
SAF flag.svg South Astrasia A middle-ranking Portuguese-speaking power based in part on Brazil and elsewhere in South America, with cultural and economic influences from neighbouring Karvaland.
Flagge-sudrr--1.jpg Synergetische Union A synergetic welfare state that is characterized by true co-determination of the entire population and the socialization of businesses and the legal positions derived from these businesses. The cultural and linguistic character of the population is, on the one hand, Nether Kalmish and, on the other hand, Surian. Echoes of the following regions of RW are intended: Areas along the line Tallinn - Sankt-Peterburg - Petrozavodsk - Archangel'sk.
TarrasesFlagforMini.png Tárrases A sort of cultural "bridge" between Ardisphere, Mahhal, and the rest of the OGF world. If I had to give a "concept summary" for Tárrases in one sentence, I would say, "mix Gibraltar and Macao, and put it in a Bergen, Norway, climate." Currently, it is my best mapping in OGF.
Flag-Ataraxia-Haut-Var-3.png Upper Var SAR Wealthy, international offshore financial center and tax haven modeled on Switzerland, Cayman Islands, Jersey / Guernsey. Maintains its own economic, legal & immigration regimes as a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of Ataraxia. Annexed in 1915 after a severe depression and economic crisis started to create a refugee crisis, but economy has since recovered. Status is ongoing political question in Ataraxia.

Vilvetian Republic flag.png Vilvetia Country in North-western Archanta with North-African culture (Morroco, Tunisia and Egypt), and Andean-like geography (Jungle & Mountains)
Vodeo Flag.png Vodeo A wealthy nation in equatorial eastern Tarephia based on Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean.

Walleanflag.jpg Wallea A crowded, developing, capitalistic tropical nation with diverse resource and climate. Culture and language are based on Native Malay/Indo, several Asian and South American countries with the Spanish and English as the nation colonizer.
Wiwaxia Flag.jpg Wiwaxia Country on the Axian Peninsula, a former colony of Ingerland. Due to an idiosyncratic turn of events, Wiwaxia has been a matriarchal society since its independence from Ingerland in the early 1700s.
Flagwyster.png Wyster Wyster is an insular kingdom in eastern Uletha. Its closest neighbour (by sea) is Glaster, with which country Wyster formed the Kingdom of Both Glasters until its dissolution in 1834. Inspiration for Wyster derives from e.g. Wales and other parts of the UK, Romania, etc. The Wystrian language is unrelated to existing languages on earth.
ZAFlag.png Zalivnia Entirely inspired by Serbia. A bit richer, and more used to the surrounding. (Don't worry, the history is not as harsh as the one of Serbia.)
FLAGZYL.png Zylanda Honest and friendly people, soft landcape and fascinating towns like Aaby and Elegantia. We love the sea. (Lower german origin).
Ostermark Flag.jpg Østermark A small island country settled by whalers from Scandmark 700 years ago. Inspired by the Nordic countries, if they had remained poor. The language is basically Swedish but with the Danish Ø and Æ. Very much a work in progress, the coastline is still under development.
