Sálvora

Sálvora is a region of the principality of Vega. It is in the southeastern part of the country, in the coastal mountain range of Sálvora and the Gares Valley, and it has borders in the north with the regions of Victoria (provinces of Izaro and Liguria) and Ciudad de Vega. The population is 1,526,393 (2014).

The capital city is Sálvora, in the northeasternmost area of the region. Other important cities and towns are Albella, Astia, Claramonte, Gares de la Val and Villa de la Merced.

Sálvora and surrounding area is part of the conurbation of Vega, the biggest and most populated in the country.

Several highways of the National Highway Network of the principality run on the province, especially on the western part. This network is completed with the Provincial Highway Network:

Main National Roads are N1 (Vega-Langraiz), N11 (Sálvora-Liguria) and N91 (Sálvora-Puerto Victoria). There is an extensive provincial road network.

Airports

The airport ''Vega Sur - Sálvora'' is just 9 km south of the city of Sálvora, near San Sebastián de Sálvora. It has a train station and the commercial area 'Aeroforum' is placed nearby.

Train infrastructure

Most of the railways in the province of Sálvora have their starting point in Vega Central Station:

- Vega-Langraiz Railway: three stations in Sálvora (Puente de Hierro, Central and Villalosa), and Claramonte, among others.

- Vega-Sálvora-Albella Railway: shared tracks with Vega-Langraiz until Villablanca de Sálvora; other stations: La Roca, Aeropuerto de Sálvora / Aeroforum, Camarles and Albella Central.

- Vega-Liguria-Silea Railway: it crosses river Vega and has two stops in Sálvora (Puente de Hierro and Noroeste).

- Port of Sálvora Railways: it connects Camarles and Sálvora Central via Foncebadón and Port of Sálvora.

Metro and Tram

Metro de Vega runs under the city of Sálvora (lines 1, 4 and 10). Sálvora and Albella also have well developed tramway systems.
