History

At the moment this section about the history is a stub and will be expanded hopefully soon. All Mergany-related articles will be edited and expanded by the corresponding territory's owner. If you have any ideas about it, feel free to participate and edit this section. However, please respect other people's previous work - if you want to change already-developed ideas, contact the author. A stub is an article that, although sometimes providing more or less useful information, is too short to provide OGF encyclopedic coverage of a subject, and that is capable of expansion. Also non-article pages, such as disambiguation pages, lists, categories, templates, talk pages, and redirects, can be regarded as stubs. Due to the lack of time, some stub articles have little verifiable information, but its subject has an apparent notability. So let me conclude, this section will be expanded soon.

Rohevann explosion

The Rohevann explosion occurred on October 27, 1918, when a tower silo storing 5 200 tonnes of a mixture of ammonium nitrate fertilizer and ammonium sulfate exploded at a SAF plant in Rohevann, Mergany, killing 122 people and injuring about 600 more. The plant began producing ammonium sulfate in 1907, a few years later it began to produce ammonium nitrate as well. The explosion was estimated to be about 2 kilotonnes TNT equivalent and was heard as a loud bang more than 200 km away. The pressure wave caused great damage in all settlements around the location, ripped roofs off up to 25 km away and destroyed windows even further away. About 80 percent of the SAF facilities and some hundreds residential buildings were destroyed, leaving 1 200 homeless. At ground zero a 100 m crater, 25 m deep, was created. Today, the crater is known as Lake Ammonium.

Products

Among many chemical products, SAF produces a large variety of plastics. A special ABS thermoplastic polymer is exclusively used for Plega toys.
