Saarmae Lía Airport
Saarmae Lía Airport is a regional airport on the island of Príatje in the state of Saarmae, Karolia. It is the main gateway to the islands that comprise the state and sees frequent movements during the summer tourist season. Due to the short length of the runway, only regional-size aircraft can land on it.
Its code is SAL/KASL
A grass airstrip was built on the the site in 1937 to facilitate mail and passenger flights to the mainland. It was upgraded to a tarmac runway in 1977, and the present passenger terminal built in 1984. ILS navigation equipment was installed at the same time.

KAwings, the low-cost subsidiary of Air Karolia, also run charter flights to the island from airports in Karolia and Darcodia.
SAL's small terminal contains check-in desks, ticket sales for Air Karolia and Liavia, a bureau de change, car hire desks, a small shop and duty-free shop airside. There is car and bicycle hire available adjacent to the terminal as well as a long-term car park.
The runway at SAL is only 1100 meters in length, severely restricting the size of aircraft that can use the airport. The number of tourists arriving during the summer months results in a high number of aircraft arriving and departing and a high volume of passengers passing through the terminal, which the airport authority estimates will increase by 20-30% in the next ten years. This has led to repeated calls for the runway to be lengthened and a larger terminal built, but plans have been hampered by the terrain, acquiring land and political disputes over the issue. Alternative plans have been to build a completely new airport on reclaimed land or to use amphibious seaplanes on shorter routes (a seaplane base currently operates from a nearby island for charter and private flights).
