I think its time to bring up a very important issue occurring in the FSA right now.
When it was created, it was decided all multi-state issues like large natural features, or collaborative territories, or mountain ranges would have their names and details voted on by the FSA community, or in some cases a smaller subset.
Recently there have been many natural features and three or four collaborative states that have been named over the Discord without any sort of formal discussion or consultation of the rest of the community. I feel like this is wrong and that there needs to be an effort to retroactively fix this situation and make sure that important decisions are being made HERE in front of EVERYONE and not just a few people scheming on the Discord.

These people had a vote in naming New Carnaby, Mennowa, Cosperica, etc, so why shouldn't we be allowed to vote on their collaboration names? It seems very hypocritical

I have not seen discussions being finalised on Discord (yet), but that certainly should not be the solution for FSA issues. I personally keep far, far, far from Discord because of it's issues in the far and recent past. Also, it's one forum too many IMHO. We have procedures, we have a forum (= here) let's use it.

The names for Walkegan collaborative, Delenshire Islands collaborative, and now "Eskamishee" collaborative have all been decided by a small community on DC

@marcello It looks like TheMayor is trying to make sure important nationwide issues discussed on the discord make their way to the forum. That said, I do wish this forum were more active.

Walkegan and Delenshire are considered more "private" collaborations, so that does not apply. And also, here we go again with the Discord drama.

Mayor has only started this after I have brought up how clandestine these decisions were. Has anyone here ever heard the name "Eskamishee"? Then why is it a new territory being thoroughly planned only on the discord.

You may call this drama, but this is a CRITICALLY important discussion to have, and there are serious concerns with major decisions being made apart from the rest of the FSA community here on the forums!

The reason why the plans for the northwest haven't been announced here is that these plans are in the making. Once plans are more finalized, they're supposed to be announced here. However, I can see why when these things are being developed, you'd want more transparency.

To make it clear, with collaboratives being planned, we're doing the backstage planning over discord, but it won't be exclusive to members of the unofficial OGF Discord. Once we are ready, we will publicly announce it most likely over the forum here.

Well, this forum is not as condusive, in my opinion, to creating ideas and getting feedback, as well as building a community. This feels much more formal(not in the best of ways), and Discord is an environment where when properly regulated people can make far more collaboration progress. In short, discord and this forum is very different. I won't deny that Discord has problems, but if this was the only forum then a lot of valuable voices wouldn't get heard.
