What's your favourite musical style or bands or musicians etc...?
I listen to mostly rock, alternative rock etc.... Though I do appreciate greatly classical music and certain movie soundtracks (Saving Private Ryan ftw) and even jazz.

My all time favorite is ragtime music! Which is one of the reasons I made it popular in Freedemia (home to the famous John Scoplin... he he he)
If I had to list some of my favorite ragtime songs:
- Bohemia Rag by Joseph Lamb
- Kansas City Rag by James Scott
- Apple Jack Rag by Charles Johnson
- The Easy Winners by Scott Joplin
- Fig Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin
- Sensation Rag by Joseph Lamb and Scott Joplin
- A Totally Different Rag by May Aufderheide
Other than that, gospel, hymns, some contemporary Christian music, jazz, and classical are the types I listen to most.
Unless you count video game music... in which case almost anything Kirby, Mario, or classic Sonic will be worth a listen

Classical music: apart from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, I prefer 20th century music by people like Shostakovich, Sibelius, Bartok, Prokofiev, Elgar, Lutoslawski, etc.
Rock music I like things that are sophisticated and melodic: Franz Zappa definitely, my favourite band are called Moulettes and defy categorization.

I like rock and recently I've discovered that some breeds of metal are in fact very enjoyable to listen to. Few of the bands I like are Eagles of Death Metal (which is, despite the name, a desert rock band), Royal Blood (a British bass+drum duo with a sound of at least a quartet). I'm currently listening to the album "The Hunter" by Mastodon (which is a prog/sludge metal band).

I like military marches and patriotic songs, German in particular, and East German for the former. I have no idea why. I also listen to classical music, especially pieces by Debussy, Liszt and Choipin. Of more modern music, I normally listen to electro swing, and trap more infrequently. Finally, I listen to more pop music from various stages during the 20th century, and a quite a few recent songs too.
Tl;dr, my music taste is a mess.

I am really, really glad to hear all these different types of music here. Until recently I thought all that people my age listen to is retarded gangster rap like "Gucci Gang". Very Nice tastes here! I have to say I enjoy all the aforementioned music as well.

I listen to pop, jazz, rock, folk, classical... almost any kind fo music. What makes music good for me is not the genre but the presence of at least some of the following key elements: (1) dynamic development (e.g. "Money For Nothing" intro), (2) well-balanced arrangement with some original twist (e.g. mandolin in "Losing My Religion"), (3) restrained energy (e.g. "Fever" sung by Elvis Presley and others), (4) Skillfull vocals emphasized (Pentatonix!), (5) good lyrics that match well with the composition, (6) boldly simple music (no overproduction or exausting power-boost that tries to overshadow lack of quality) and (7) not too eccentric (some minimum of tonalism must be present).
