May I ask why some of my city names were excised? Like Herzogok? --Zytik (talk) 17:11, 15 November 2019 (CET)

Because they had absolutely no similarity with Polish (some were even impossible to say using Polish spelling rules). You may of course find better proposals but please learn a bit about language first. Two proposals were also removed because they sound funny. Kogutt - kogut means rooster in Polish. Dolina Miłosna/Dolina Miłości is good in terms of grammar but the reality is that it is somewhat stereotypical name for erotic shops and brothels (Love valley/Valley of Love) in Poland. --Rüstem Paşa Discussion 17:41, 15 November 2019 (CET)
Well, Kogutt was not mine at least. Herzogok is literally a mashup of two common polish names? Of course its Polish. I create a portmanteau of the name of a famous civil rights activist from the 20th century, Franek Herzog. Ill give you one guess where he is from. --Zytik (talk) 21:35, 15 November 2019 (CET)
Just because its a mashup of two common Polish names doesn't necessarily mean it's Polish. As an English example, you could combine two common last names such as "Smith" and "Williams" and get something like "Smitlliams" that doesn't look or sound like English at all. (SMIT-ULL-EE-UMS? How would you even pronounce that?) I don't know much about Polish, but just my two cents on the matter. --Yoyo21 (talk) 21:55, 15 November 2019 (CET)
Yoyo21, it seems to be exactly this case. Polish like every language has its rules and not every mashup will sound well. Also Herzog is a surname of German origin, not Polish. In Poland it is common due to history and neighborhood of both countries, in OGF it would rather not occur. I understand that someone may not know or feel these things but it doesn't mean that bad names should be accepted. Also for some names you don't need to know Polish, for example to eliminate Audetruog for example you need to know pronunciation only. A-oo-da-through-og. Impossible or at least uncomfortable. --Rüstem Paşa Discussion 22:12, 15 November 2019 (CET)
And keep Onalei which is pronounced Onn-Ah-Ley-Eye --Zytik (talk) 01:26, 16 November 2019 (CET)
Which is simply to say. --Rüstem Paşa Discussion 01:37, 16 November 2019 (CET)
@Zytik 'Onalei' means 'it's okay' in Greek. IiEarth (talk) 23:05, 25 November 2019 (CET)iiEarth
