I'd like to propose that on portal pages such is this, we focus on listing locations that actually have wiki articles - otherwise, the information serves no purpose (i.e., there is no map link, so without a wiki article, there is no way to see the city listed). So unless some people suggest alternatives, I will move to "clean up" the red-linked cities over the next few days.--Luciano (talk) 05:31, 15 January 2016 (CET)
- I propose instead that we create stub articles with the information we have, for as many cities that we can find that appear to be significant. At the very least, move the links to another page, so those responsible for the countries where those cities are located can do what they need to do while not cluttering up the main cities page. --Skquinn (talk) 06:33, 15 January 2016 (CET)
Which towns/cities are important enough?
I know that the page says "significant towns", but I wondered what the precise criteria are for putting a town on this page. I wanted to put a small town I made on this page, but it only has around 5000 inhabitants. That's probably not significant enough, but on the other hand many of the cities on this page either don't even have a wiki page or a very short one. My tiny town on the other hand has a rather extensive page... Is the quality of the wikipage also a criterium?--TRJ (talk) 20:12, 13 July 2016 (CEST)
- I don't think there is a defined criteria, but I've only added the two biggest cities of my country. I don't think that a town with around 5,000 inhabitants is significant enough, but I would like to know about which town you talk :) Niels20020 (talk) 20:04, 13 July 2016 (CEST)
