The city of Verney has the fifth largest metropolitan area in Wiwaxia, with 705,010 inhabitants. Verney is the county seat for County Halkeiria.
The city was founded by Arminta, the Countess of Verney, in 1699. It was an important way point between Murthwaite and Wiwaxmouthe.
Places of Interest
Verney is known for the Great Square in the center of the city, with the Jubilee Palace, built for the Countess of Verney in 1799 in celebration of the city centennial, situated on the west end and St. Evadne Cathedral on the east end.
The Jubilee Theater, also from 1799, is one of the premier venues for classical theatre in Wiwaxia.
Verney is served by the W401 Willmore Fanshawe Expressway, Wiwaxia's longest highway, as well as the R22 and the Verney-Wiwax Freeway W341. Trains from the Western Station run to and from Wiwaxmouthe, Murthwaite, Willmore, Pargiter and Starkadder, with points in between. The Brillyard Airport, 3 kilometers south of the city, provides international flights to major cities throughout Uletha and Archanta.
