|Xsegunis (Ingerish pronunciation /say-Goon-is/, Xseget pronunciation /tʃø'ŋɪnes/ (tchuh-Gih-nays), ‘the Land of the Xseym’) is a country in the Archantan subcontinent of Astrasia. It is one of the few countries in the area where the indigenous people forms the ethnic majority. The main religion is the Shutauta (Xwtawta), which centres around four Gods. Xsegunis can be considered a confederation of religious states, so called ‘cheekunays’ (cykvnistilisws, sing. cykvnisvs); in each of these states, the cult of one of these Gods dominates. The capital is the city of Rwynuk (/rweenick/, in full: Rwynuk Swxytsahocsunav, ‘the Temple of the Diamond Shrine’); this is the residence of the head of state, who is essentially the highest of all priests (Tsoqawten) who combines the cults of the four Gods and who is elected by and from the midst of the high priests.||Pwxsegunisws nisistily gus asterutsuykukontynenta Arhantap. Geography and climate
Xsegunis (area AR063, shared with the Holy Duchy of Rauhnas) is located on the southern half of Archanta. It borders Karvnis (Karvaland, AR056a), Tryqwy (Triaquia, AR048), Rocsynis (Rauhnas, AR063), Eqan (the Gann Republic, AR051), Pavtalte (Neo Delta, AR055), and Wapaxy (Wapashia, AR053). The most populous parts of the country can be found in the flat northwestern coastal areas, where the capital Rwynuk is located. Southwest of the Wyrhos-Xsemecsoru line, the terrain is less friendly, with large woods and swamps that attract mosquitos and other insects. Further to the east as well as at the borders with Wapashia there is more elevation; the country's hightest point can be found in the northeast.
The people called the Xseym once were a dominant people in the southwestern part of Astrasia. The Empire of Xsegunis reached its peak in the late Middle Ages, but when overseas powers came and founded colonies in the area from the 17th century onwards, it was pushed back and its territory was reduced to its current limits.
Revolution of the Estates
Xsegunis is a deeply religious country so when the its foundations were threatened by the rule of Emperor Qwgasti IV, who tried to establish a personal cult and tried to force the clergy to adapt the official teachings so that he could fit in, and had Tsoqawten Orautsu III imprisoned and her palace raided and threatened to abolish Shutauta alltogether when the clergy wouldn't budge, the clergy and the commoners staged the so called Revolution of the Estates in 1842.
The Empire was overthrown; initially the intention was to just depose Emperor Qwgasti IV and have his eldest daughter succeed him, but things got out of hand and the entire Imperial Family as well as the members of the nobility residing at the Imperial Court in Harcsert were killed in the process. The rest of the nobility was left alone but they were forbidden to hold political offices on the ground of their status alone, after which several were forced to seek jobs.
In the months that followed the country succumbed into chaos due to the sudden and unexpected power vacuum. Consultations were held by the Tsoqawten and it was decided to move power to the provinces, which were reconstituted as states of a religious confederation.

Cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants
Xsegunis is ruled by the Tsoqawten (lit. 'Servant of the Gods', the highest of all priests) who is elected by and from the midst of all high priests (kvlosagus) and serves for life. The Tsoqawten in turn appoints new high priests from all four cults. The Tsoqawten appoints max. six ministers to form a government that he chairs him- or herself.
There is a national parliament of 65 members called Savrtwq Onvswtav (Council of the People) that controls and advises the government, but which doesn’t have the power to sack the government. Elections take place every five years using a mixed proportional and first past the post system. There is one member per state, while the remaining twelve members are elected proportionally.
There are two dominant political parties (Party Pentunisav PPN ‘Party for Our Country’ (conservative) and Soxaltimokratukuparty STP ‘Socialdemocratic Party’) and several smaller parties that generally get only few seats in parliament if any at all.
The last elections took place in 2016, with the PPN gaining 42 seats, the STP 19, the TP (Topaparty 'Green Party') 2, and independent members 2.
The 54 cykvnistilisws (states) are each headed by a kwxor (vicar), who is a high priest of the cult that is dominant in the state. The kwxor is nominated by the legislative Council of the state and appointed by the Tsoqawten. The legislative Councils are elected every four years through proportional representation and have significantly more power than the national parliament.

Roads in Xsegunis are defined by the level of government that is responsible for their construction and maintenance. On the Confederal level there are the motorways (Stwahahavrtastalis, sing. Stwahahavrt 'main road'; the red roads on the map) and Confederal roads (Konwyteralyhavrtastalis, the light orange roads; primary roads). They are usually given a number preceded by an S resp. a K.
On the State level there are also so called 'car roads' (Awtohavrtastalis), which are essentially also motorways but on State level of responsibility (on the map the dark orange trunk roads are used for these); these have numbers preceded by an A. Other State level roads are the Cykvnisuhavrtastalis ('State road'), which are the yellow secundary and the white tertiary roads; these have numbers preceded respectively by CS and CP.
Currently Xsegunis has the following motorways (some of which need to be elaborated mappingwise):

Society, culture, and religion
A personal name is one word that consists of several elements:
- age/marital status
- societal status (class)
- (marital name1)
- personal element ('first name')
- family name
- (marital name1)
1 If the name of the family of one's husband/wife is more important than one's own, it will be inserted before one's personal element; if one's own family is more important, one's husband/wife's family name will be added after one's own family name. Families of equal importance usually let the position depend on the size of the dowry.
The dominant religion in Xsegunis is Shutauta (Xwtawta), which centres around the four Gods Awxswysy, Hur, Koceun, and Satsvgus. Although most believers tend to divide their worshipping time between these four, the majority treats one of them as their main divine companion and reserves the other three for special cases and occasions. A significant minority focuses on two Gods, several thousands are known to focus on three Gods (usually Awxswysy, Koceun, and Satsvgus), and perhaps hundred on all four of them in an equal amount.
The Shutauta tradition is supposedly thousands of years old, although the earliest written records of the religion have disappeared over time. Among the lost works is the legendary Xwtukogqysqe (the 'Four-Book'), a collection of four divine books dictated by each of the Gods, which contained all Knowledge of the world and the universe. Parts of the Xwtukogqysqe were copied and are still treated as the religion's most sacred texts, although some scholars claim that some of the texts that are considered to have been part of the Xwtukogqysqe are in fact of dubious origin; Shutauta leadership usually treats these scholars as heretics. Most of the original manuscripts of the Xwtukogqysqe copies that are part of Shutauta teachings are kept in monasteries throughout Xsegunis. Some of them were lost when parts of the former Xsegunis empire were conquered by colonial powers from the 17th century onwards. The government of Xsegunis is allegedly negotiating with at least two neighbouring countries the return to Xsegunis of manuscripts that resurfaced in recent years.
