Nikolovac (pronunciation: [ˈnikô:lovats], Escadian: Nikkelstaat, Gaerman: Nikolaustadt, Ingerish also: Nikkeltown) is the capital and the largest city of Mallyore. It is located in the north of the country, on the shore of the Egalian Lake between Rumina and Banava rivers. Nikolovac lies on the elevation of approximately 114 m above the sea level.[2] The estimated population of the city in 2018 is 989,100. The population of Nikolovac urban agglomeration is around 1.3 million and it makes approximately a third of a total population of Mallyore.[3]

Nikolovac is a city with rich history dating from the ancient times to the present day. The name Nikolovac is first time recorded in 9th century. It granted a status of free royal town in 1194.[4] Thanks to Varventis Act from 1799, Nikolovac became a seat of newly established Duchy of Mallyore. Since full independence was regained in 1918, Nikolovac is the capital of Mallyore.

The transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific, research institutions and industrial tradition underlie its leading economic position in Mallyore. Nikolovac is the seat of the central government, administrative bodies and all government ministries.[5] The majority of the largest Mallyorian companies, media and scientific institutions have their headquarters in the city. The Nikolovac area is the centre of the road, rail and air networks of Mallyore. It is a city known for its diverse economy, high quality of living, museums, sporting and entertainment events. Its main branches of economy are high-tech industries and the service sector.[6]
