Remiville, officially the City-State of Remiville and commonly referred to as Belphenia City, is a city-state and capital of Belphenia. The discovery of Belphenia in 2007 resulted in the creation of a city-state beside Lake Chesuncook. As a city-state, it is therefore part of the prefecture of the same name.

On April 5, 2011, protesters, superheroes, and terrorists destroyed much of Remiville and its surrounding suburbs in a dispute over an immediate ban on fictional characters in video game media depicting superhuman abilities involving psychic powers, resulting in more than 850,000,000,000 sapphire in damages, and almost all of Remiville was completely destroyed, with its surrounding areas like Indorur, Gargatha, Diamond Moon, Mion, and Soleanna succumbed to total destruction. The city and its surrounding suburbs suffered grave economic damage and largest loss of human, dragon, and mermaid life in the aftermath of the April 5, 2011 attacks on Belphenia. The rebuilding of Remiville and its suburbs, rebuilt the old downtown area and created a new downtown area northeast from the original downtown area, new cities, towns, and villages, and a 4/05 memorial and museum, along with new Interstate highways and new infrastructure in a rapid rebuilding project launched by the Housing and Urban Development Council and the Workers' Party of Belphenia. The Remiville Expo Centre, which opened on May 13th, 2007, was also severely damaged in the attack, and had to be demolished and rebuilt. The Remiville Sky Tower is the tallest structure in Belphenia by pinnacle height, which its spire reaches an iconic 2,007 feet (612.3 metres) in reference to Reiko Beard's founding of Belphenia.

Remiville, most commonly Ryushime (and commonly referred to as Belphenia City, formerly Edeiwyn), is the capital of Belphenia. It is also the state capital of Sakura. It is the oldest city ever in Belphenia ahead of Eraede and the first largest city ahead of Magehaven.

Remiville had an estimated population of 3,655,993 in 2014, the most populous city in Belphenia ahead of Shirahoshi and Zerephine City.

Etymology

The name "Ryushime" is derived from Great Heart words Ryushimi, and Nohomime, meaning "Endless Wind" in the Nihonish language. The first known reference to the city of Remiville as "Ryushime" was by samurai Toko Hiiragi in 1557 referring to constant, windy weather conditions. Saoko Nonoshimi, the Angels of the Celestial Sky guild master, named the city as "Ryushime" during the events of the Uprising of Magehaven in 1558.

Contemporary history

In March 2015, 100% of the Remiville Metropolitan Area were modernized amid the suspension of Reback's redevelopment project on the Reback-Duranth International Airport. Because of the suspension in Drevet, all Reback workers have been transferred to the Remiville International Airport redevelopment project in Magehaven, Remiville.

On March 31, 2015, Remiville Prefecture was renamed to Sakura Prefecture to clear up the confusion between Remiville and the prefecture of the same name.
