UL13b - Księstwo Lugnicji (Duchy of Lugnicja)

{{territory application physical geography}}

Duchy of Lugnicja is a country with a temperate climate. The climate is required for the north-central part of Poland.

The northern part of the country is mostly a low plateau area. The central part is made of plains. The southwestern and western parts of the country are much more mountainous (small mountain range), except for areas near the northwestern coast.

The southern areas are basins with low, old granite mountains (like Sudety in Poland).

In the east, almost all of the area is plain-highland, except for a small area of volcanic mountains in the southeast. (<--- like in Poland, for example: Ostrzyca Proboszczowicka, Czartowska Skała, or Mt.Grodziec )

Duchy of Lugnicja borders UL13c in the east, Lechia in the south, and Siiland in the west.

Unfortunately imgur doesn't work in my computer :/{{territory application human geography}}

Duchy of Lugnicja has around 6.8 million inhabitants, split between its two historical countries (Lechia, and Siiland).

The capital (Lugnica) is a city located in central plains, near Lugnica Lake. It has around 3 million residents.

The eastern historical country of Duchy of Lugnica has around 1.8 million inhabitants. East has a lot of agriculture due to its flatter geography. Due to its plain nature, towns tend to be bigger and more connected than towns in west.

The western historical country of Duchy has around 1.5 million inhabitants. West is a source of wood, coal ores, and oil. Due to its mountain nature, towns tend to be smaller. Due to its plain nature, towns tend to be bigger and more connected than towns in east.{{territory application history and culture}}

The culture is based on the Polish historical regions of Kuyavia, Dobrzyn Land and Chelmno Land .

The language of Lugnicja is Polish and Kashubian-Kocievian. In-universe, the language could be considered a dialect of Lechian - Lugnicjan Polechian.

The Duchy of Lugnicja gain independence in 31 July 1831 from Lechia.{{territory application past mapping}}
Hello! I'm happy to see there is interest in the area! I'm always excited about potential new neighbours in the GNS! However, there are a few points that I would like to point out for your request.

- Most importantly, the climate. The southernmost point of this territory is at 62 degrees north and it would be nice to see the plan reflect this. Think less, 'northern central poland' and more 'central northern scandinavia'

- This leads into the second part, population. The population estimate of 6.8 million is way too high for the area based on the latitude, for context, Silland has roughly 2,5 million people.

- Your experience. While I think your rural mapping is really nice, you should definitely work on developing your urban mapping portfolio before requesting a territory in Uletha. This was also noted in your previous request and I would recommend either spending some more time in the BG area, or requesting a BG territory of your own, or even a smaller territory in Antarephia or Tarephia as those areas tend to be more open for new members (that's how I started out on the platform anyway :) ).

- Sketches. It would be nice to see your thoughts as a sketch, making it easier to understand what you mean when you describe the geography. I am somewhat confused about your mention of Volcanic mountains for instance, which may not be too relevant in the area.

On that note, rural mapping should be the priority in UL13b, and while that might make the territory a good candidate for you, perhaps the climate and area might entice you to consider something further south. Alternatively, if you do decide to go after UL13b I would urge you to show your ability to map the more relevant forests and hills as well as towns and smaller cities that may be expected here as opposed to farmland or plains. Map the things that would be expected to see in the territory you're requesting, so we know you'll be able to map it well :) Additionally, for reference, for an area with similair size and location to UL13b in the real world, look at Västernorrlands Län in Sweden.

I hope to see you work on your portfolio and would love to see a new neighbour in the arctic. Best of luck!
Gharbiya, located in Northwestern Tarephia is a closed collaborative territory of OGF. The country is a matriarchal dictatorship loosely based on north/western african and middle eastern countries.

The country is, in a way, a social commentary on the state of gender inequality in the middle east. While still keeping the project realistic. It's interesting how 'weird' and 'extreme' something can seem, just by swapping the roles, keep this in mind.
=== Joining the collab ===
The Gharbiya project is a '''closed collaborative project''' Meaning, the project is intended as a collaboration between friends before anythng else. Thus, there are no ''official'' avenues of joining, other than by [https://opengeofiction.net/message/new/Liadrien contacting Liadrien] and asking to do so.

= Structure of the project =
== Discussion, information and planning ==
Discussion around the project will primarily be held on a private discord server. All members are thus expected to have access to this platform

== Structure ==
Liadrien is the coordinator of the project and owns the territory akin to an orange territory in the case of reduced activity or interest from other members.
Compared to many other collaboratives in OGF, the rules for Gharbiya is relatively relaxed. For the time being, I see no need for official co-coordinators. Instead, everyone is a co-coordinator in their own way. Bringing their own expertise and skill sets.

Mappers can either map anywhere they want in the non-reserved areas or reserve smaller areas. These areas will not be predetermined but rather be fluid where mappers can reserve an area fitting what they want to do. And move on when they feel like they are done for the time being. An area can be smaller for someone who prefers mapping higher detail, larger for someone working on a larger scale with nature or macro mapping or anywhere in between depending on preference. For the people that enjoy the worldbuilding aspect, I will allow claiming/reserving an area where the mapper serves the role of Walina/Princess of that area and is allowed to worldbuild to their heart’s content. These reserved areas do not have to align with administrative boundaries and will be kept track of by me. The capital and Al'habr will remain unreservable, save for smaller parts of them. Additionally, [https://opengeofiction.net/user/Timboh Timboh] plans and coordinates the city of Al'Habr relatively independently from the rest of the project in interest of giving the city a unique style to the rest of the country.
== Language ==
The language of the country is a conlang called “tamneidh” but naming is generally done in ‘fake arabic’. Mazanic is seen as a beautiful and cultured language, leading to strong inspiration from the Mazanic language in names throughout the country. Many placenames in Gharbiya are inspired or taken directly from Mazan, but using the latin alphabet. Many of which butchered into oblivion by people who don’t actually speak Mazanic. Others will be in Tamneidh, but using the latin(english) alphabet. I will supply some resources for this language to members, but you won’t need it if it does not interest you or seems to be too much for you.

'''How to handle naming:'''
Think Hollywood. “If it sounds Arabic to a non-Arabic speaker, it's good” This would be how many of the names came about canonically. Someone thought something sounded cool and Mazanic, mixed it with a native name or Mazanified a name or word.

== Culture ==
The culture of Gharbiya is not intended to be a direct parallel to any place in the real world. While taking inspiration from many north african and middle eastern traditions, many aspects are reimagined. One of the guiding factors of Gharbiya is an old african style matriarchal culture, mixing with foreign influences. Leading to the label of '''feminist imani Dictatorship'''.

'''Impacts on mapping'''
*Transport infrastructure focus on connecting places where women are expected to travel. While areas where predominantly men work or travel are relatively underdeveloped. Industral areas may be located further from city centers, partially to hide away the polution, but also since the travel to these areas of employment are not generally respected. Women still take care of kids, thus, travel to and from daycares and elementary schools are prioritized. These facilities will be more common, even if they may individually be smaller in scale. Office areas and areas of administrative work are prioritized.
*Names used for places or buildings are very rarely that of men.
*Neigbourhoods and micro districs are common, partially as a sense of safety in numbers from the 'uncontrallable men' but also as a tool to assist in childcare. For higher income areas, gated communities are common for much the same reason

== Religion ==
The religion is a special kind of Imani, in which most important figures are reimagined as women and many of the real world muslim gender roles are switched. Women are seen as the rulers of the households and men are not permitted to hold land or titles. Thus, the more common patriarchal Imani cultures would shun the religious practices of Gharbiya and few of them would recognize the religion as Imani at all.

*Statues are allowed, while islam generally does not allow for statues, the idea of huge bronze statues of a dictator is too tempting to pass up. Akin to how statues of people are allowed and common in say Indonesia and much of Africa, they are in Gharbiya as well. Notably however, statues and depictions of holy people will remain taboo and not allowed.
*(most)Mosques should have one side facing [https://opengeofiction.net/node/204794594 Maad], almost due east of Gharbiya. These mosques will be numerous, and found in almost every city block/neighborhood.

== Economy ==
The country extracts large amounts of oil and gold, as well as significant amounts of rare earth minerals such as iridium, Neodymium, Yttrium, Scandium and Terbium and certain gemstones like tigerseye and sapphire. This resource extraction serves as the backbone of the Gharbiyan economy and wealth distribution is very poor. Leading to an extremely wealthy elite and a very poor and very large working class. Tourism is more or less none existant save for in the city of Al'Habr. Wealth distribution in the country may be poor, but the country itself is exceptionally wealthy. Lavish megaprojects and expensive luxuries are expected, if heavily clustered and guarded, surrounded by expansive regions of dense slums and sprawls.

*Slums and extensive housing projects reign supreme, the contrast between upper and lower class is extreme as huge palaces and mansions contrast the unplanned messy slums and barren housing projects.

*'Propaganda-plazas' and overbuilt engineering can be found in most cities. With the backing of a rich totalitarian government, it is not rare to see 6+6 lane freeways and almost empty high end transport options, in stark contrast to the apalling and insufficient options for the working class.
*Akin to what Imperator has mapped in Ta Ceti, Grand reconstructions of ancient temples and overdramatifications of the remnants of the Amn empire can be found here and there.

'''Mapping motto:'''
''whoefully underbuilt where it matters and whoefully overbuilt where it 'looks' like it matters. Lobsided and dysfynctional, with a thin facade of luxury.''

= Cities =
'''Yanim''' is the largest city and capital of the country. A large portion of the population lives here. The city is dense with extensive slums and sprawls along the western coast and inland along a seasonal river. This city is in general quite poor, where the wealthy, including the royal family live further out from the city. Often in lavish palaces and villas.

'''Al'Habr''' is built on the oil exports, the city lies on flat desert and has become a beacon for foreign trade, high end tourism and fancy hotels. The harsh conditions of the working class are expertly hidden away here, and this is the main city where foreigners can actually come and visit. Think lavish, inspired by Las vegas, Singapore and of course Dubai. All funded by a crazy rich dictatorship. City is unreservable save for smaller areas

'''Basaarat''' is a larger city on the western coast. It is one of the main industrial hubs of the country, with metalworks and foundries and factories. The city is akin to Yanim in its poor distribution of wealth, but more corporate, much of which is owned by a single Walina and her family.

'''Lahrlan''' Is the Gharbiyan gateway to the Helion desert, situated in on a periodically flowing river. Full of ancient structures and of course, oil extraction. Much of the country’s oil is pumped to here in pipes, refined and shipped out to the coast on trains for exportation. Al’habr and Basaarat are the major ports for oil exports.
Hi there, I just noticed your [recent mapping](ADD LINK TO CHANGESET) in OpenGeofiction.

Unfortunately, this area is not open to public editing. Before making any more edits here, please take a moment to read the [site policies page,](https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/index.php/OpenGeofiction:Site_policies) which has instructions for new users.

Please note that new users can edit only in the blue territories on the [overview map.](http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/index.php/OpenGeofiction:Territories) Once you've built up a lengthier edit history, you will be able to [request a territory](https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/index.php/OpenGeofiction:Territory_assignment). You may also be interested in participating in a [collaborative project](https://wiki.opengeofiction.net/index.php/OpenGeofiction:List_of_collaborative_projects).

If you have questions or anything, just let me know. Thanks for understanding, and welcome to our world!
__NOTOC__''This is a page for experienced mappers to identify and contact new users editing in the wrong places. Instructions are as follows:''

# '''Search:''' The new user list below is updated every 30 minutes, listing the newest user with map edits at the top. Click on a username (skipping any on the "Contacted users" list) and then click "Edits" to see where they're editing. Users with "B" next to their name have an active block, and "b" have been blocked in the past.
# '''Confirm & List:''' If they seem lost, look at the [[OpenGeofiction:Territories|overview map]] to make sure they do not own the area, and check the "Contacted users" list below to confirm they haven't already been contacted. If they're not on the list, ''add them'' at the top. Use the format
<nowiki>* {{OGF user|NEWUSERNAME}} ~~~~</nowiki>

# '''Contact:''' Send the user a friendly message (see [[#Suggested message|suggested message]]) via OGF inbox. If they are violating [[OpenGeofiction:Site policies|other rules]] (e.g. well-known place names, real companies/organizations, unrealistic content/scale, etc), you can mention those things as well.
# '''Check back:''' If they don't reply to your message, look in on their mapping later. If they are still editing inappropriately, [https://opengeofiction.net/message/new/admin notify admin].
# The ''recent edits'' list on the [[OpenGeofiction:Dashboard|Dashboard]] is also a useful resource, as is the daily [[OpenGeofiction:Activity|activity map]].

=== Joining the collab ===

== Structure ==

== Language ==

== Culture ==

== Religion ==

== Economy ==

'''TA001 Gharbiya'''

Closed collaborative territory (more information under 'human geography' as I'm not certain where that information is supposed to go)

Gharbiya is a matriarchal dictatorship loosely based on north/western african and middle eastern countries.

The country is, in a way, a social commentary on the state of gender inequality in the middle east. While still keeping the project realistic. It's interesting how 'weird' and 'extreme' something can seem, just by swapping the roles, keep this in mind.{{territory application physical geography}}

The country is predominantly BWh, with smaller pockets of BWk at higher altitudes. Overall, the country is extremely dry. Most of the country lies within the great Helion desert, consisting of sandy dunes, an old mountain range can be found on the western side of the country, giving respite from the harsh winds and trapping some much needed moisture. Thus, the vast majority of the population can be found here. The tallest peaks of this range reach no further than ~2500m while most sit closer to ~1000m. Scattered remnants of this mountain range can be found in the northern part of the country, mostly eroded away from wind and sea leaving mostly hills around 100-300m tall. Lastly, a third, smaller range can be found further inland, trapping crucial moisture in the scorching desert, serving historically as a stopping point for nomadic caravans, and today as an isolated minor center of population far inland in the hot desert. Peaks here seldom reach over 200m, but are still rather striking features in the otherwise flat desert landscape. Often taking the form of large plateaus and mesas. As for the flat eastern part of the country, portions of it lies beneath sea level with the occasional salt pans between the dunes. Most of the oil can be found in this flatter parts of the desert as well, leading to pockets of population. Rare earth minerals are generally found around meteor impacts which can be found throughout the country. Gold can mostly be found in the middle/north around Basaarat. Bodies of water are scarce and the country has no major rivers. Some intermittent rivers can be found in the west and north and the occasional oasis can be found inland. Many artificial salt ponds line the coasts for the purpose of salt extraction.

The country has no major rivers, although several intermittently flooded streams and oasies can be found in the wet season, especially in the west, allowing for some vegetation and clusters of habitation. Otherwise, vegetation is very sparce, no extensive forests or woodlands exists, although the occasional shrubland or even grassy plains can be found in the mountains in the west. Otherwise, a lot of bare rock, cliffs and sand. Akin to Mauretania, Yemen, Southern Saudi Arabia, the UAE etc.
'''Government:'''

The country is a matriarchal dictatorship led by the Al'dagher family. The ruler of the country has the title of Mansa and is currently under the reign of 40 year old Mansa Rukhia Al'dagher. Regional power and governance is entrusted to Princesses (Walinas) from noble families who control the territory more or less directly.

'''Economy:'''
The territory will be collaborative, where I am the coordinator and the rules are relatively relaxed throughout the project, thus, I see no need for official co-coordinators. Instead, everyone is a co-coordinator in their own way. Bringing their own expertise and skill sets. The collab with be invite only, where anybody is welcome to request to join, no official avenues exist for this process, and I intend for it to stay that way. More a collaboration between friends than anything else.

Mappers can either map anywhere they want in the non-reserved areas or reserve smaller areas. These areas will not be predetermined but rather be fluid where mappers can reserve an area fitting what they want to do. And move on when they feel like they are done for the time being. An area can be smaller for someone who prefers mapping higher detail, larger for someone working on a larger scale with nature of macro mapping or anywhere in between depending on preference.

'''Currently confirmed interested mappers:'''

Timboh, Sudo91, Arlo, Bixelkoven, Mie, Sergjack and oneofbeatlefan.

Note:

If and when interest from collaboration members dies down, I will continue mapping the territory more akin to an orange territory, effectively making this project a middle thing between an orange and a purple territory. But officially, it is intended as a purple one.
{{territory application history and culture}}

'''Culture and religion:'''

The culture of Gharbiya is quite exotic, while taking inspiration from many north african and middle eastern traditions, many aspects are reimagined. One of the guiding factors of Gharbiya is an old african style matriarchal culture, mixing with foreign influences. Leading to the label of 'feminist imani Dictatorship'. The religion is a special kind of Imani, in which most important figures are reimagined as women and many of the real world muslim gender roles are switched. Women are seen as the rulers of the households and men are not permitted to hold land or titles. Thus, the more common patriarchal Imani cultures would shun the religious practices of Gharbiya and few of them would recognize the country at all. Cities and structures are planned after the needs of the women.

Below follows a list of aspects to keep in mind for mapping:

Cities built for women:

Administrative positions are held by women. Men are seen as built for manual labor and thus often work in factories and other low paying jobs. Men are generally seen as too impulsive and aggressive for administrative positions or military service.

* Transport infrastructure focus on connecting places where women are expected to travel.
* Names used for places or buildings are very rarely that of men.
* Neigbourhoods and micro districs are common, partially as a sense of safety in numbers from the 'uncontrallable men' but also as a tool to assist in childcare. For higher income areas, gated communities are common for much the same reason.

The religion:

* Statues are allowed, while islam generally does not allow for statues, the idea of huge bronze statues of a dictator is too tempting to pass up. Akin to how statues of people are allowed and common in say Indonesia and much of Africa, they will be in Gharbiya as well. Notably however, statues and depictions of holy people will remain taboo and not allowed.
* (most)Mosques should have one side facing Maad, almost due east of Gharbiya. These will be numerous, and found in almost every city block/neighborhood.
'''History:''' The country traces its herritage back to the Amn culture, which once stretched across much of northern Tarephia. While the Al'dagher claims direct lineage from this time, many other cultures dispute this (Ta Ceti shares this heritage). After the fall of this great bronze age culture, the capital city was lost over time, rumored to lie somewhere under the sands of the Helion. Some ancient structures remain from this time, some preserved as ruins, others rebuilt and taken to extremes as tools of propaganda. After this, the area became ruled by several chiefdoms and kingdoms for millennia, chasing the dream of the Amn culture as the matriarchal culture developed. During the rise of Iman, the Mazanic missionaries reached Gharbiya and converted the natives to their faith, which the locals happily took to, with some difficulty. Travellers note that the conditions and manners of the people were appalling, women breastfeeding in public, and men insisting on walking behind their wives into mosques. Being far away from Mazan, and the mazanic sultans being happy with the conversion efforts, the missionaries stopped coming, and the religion remained unchecked for hundreds of years, leading to the religion becoming what it is today. Some Ingerish colonial attempts were made, but the locals did not take well to them, instead becoming a Mazanic colony for a time in the 1700s. Independence was In the 1900s, the country became democratic from outside pressure, but eventually voted to turn back to a dictatorship under 'suspicious circumstances' and is today, one of few openly dictatorial countries of the world. '''TLDR history''' - Ancient empire - Chiefdoms and kingdoms - Imani - Matriarchal imani - Mazanic and Ingerish colonies - "Democracy" - 'voted' back to dictatorship
{{territory application past mapping}}

I started off in OGF with mapping this very country, then TA019, remnants of which still remain such as the westernmost coast and mountains. Since, I have mapped Silland (https://opengeofiction.net/relation/507 https://opengeofiction.net/#map=14/64.7279/66.8538&layers=B) where the vast majority is my own work.

I also map the territory of Tolulu,(https://opengeofiction.net/relation/350726 https://opengeofiction.net/node/300969581) as a more recent addition, where a warmer climate, more akin to that of Gharbiya is present, albeit more tropical than subtropical.

And of course, perhaps more relevant, the Wilaya of Linya in Mazan (https://opengeofiction.net/relation/209980 https://opengeofiction.net/#map=14/31.1498/56.8092&layers=B) even if this area admittedly has been relatively forgotten about recently.
'''History'''

The country was first settled by native Asperic peoples around 800 BCE. Ingerish explorers discovered Equatoreax in 1516, Other islands of the Archipelago were discovered by a mixture of Ingerish, Franquese and Lentian expeditions in the following centuries. L'île du roi was the last island of the archipelago to be discovered in 1803.

Ulethan Colonialisation came to dominate the history of the islands from 1590 with the first being a Lentian trade post on the hitherto uninhabited Atoll d'Oulétha. Ingerish and Franquese settlers subsequently established various settlements on the islands. Colonial efforts were focused on the island of Kopakopai, which was the most arable and central atoll of the archipelago. Forcing the native population to mostly relocate to other islands. The island was primarily used as a trading post for transports between Archanta and Uletha. It became an official territory of Franqueterre in 1671 and remained that way until its independence in 1974 and today remains as part of a Franquese language union (something like an OGF version of La Francophonie), as well the country relying heavily of Franquese investment capital.

{{territory application physical geography}}
The majority of the territory (especially the southern part) it’s taiga with small mountain ranges that reach up to 1200m, in the north of the country there are glaciers and most of the land is tundra with a very rugged coastline full of fjords, meanwhile the center of the country is very mountainous, thanks to the Hjörsk mountain range, in which there are glaciers in which most of the country's rivers are born.

{{territory application human geography}}

The population of Nordland is mainly concentrated in the south part of the country, having the 75% of the population, the north of the country only have the 6% of the population.
The total population of Nordland is almost 3 million people, 87% of the population are nordlandic, 11% are inuktitut and the rest 2% are minorities: Jewish,Chukchi, Polish, almost others.
The southern part are majority an agriculture land, which most of the cities, Including the capital are located, the center are majority empty because the mountains and the volcanoes, that makes the area so difficult to inhabitated, and the north of the country are so cold, so all the products are imported of the south, and the hunt of whales, fish and seales are so important to the economy of the area.

{{territory application history and culture}}
The establishment of population in Nordland dates back to 2000 years ago with the Sirmirmiutat culture (ancestors of the Inuktitut) who populated the lands until the arrival of Viking settlers in the south, so the indigenous population had to migrate north, and later there was a war for mineral resources that lasted about 20 years, which ended with Viking victory, the Vikings flourished and settled throughout Nordland, except in the north. Later the kingdom of Nordland was formed after becoming independent from Ruoguovvás by the descendants of the Vikings, dissatisfied with the treatment of the Nordland people.

Hello DT Planner.

I am Liadrien, mapper of Ruoguovvás. Looking through your application, I am hopeful about your request but have a few pointers or critiques for you as the primary neighbor of the territory.

language.

The inclusion of icelandic as primary language is not optimal, it does already exist in Norðurland, and even though EMKLI is currently inactive, it creates questions such as how that language got there. There are no other mentions of Nordic languages in the area around the great north sea. It's not a deal breaker, examples of this exists in other parts of the OGF world and I always preach that, 'as long as the mapper enjoys mapping, and does so actively, any language is good' but to further your chances, I would suggest looking into alternative languages. The area has before been cited as 'prefferably Siberian cultures/languages ' but I cannot remember when or where this was said.

About your inclusion of Inuktitut. There is currently little to no grounds for American languages in Uletha, on the same basis, it creates questions. There are languages in Archanta related to Inuktitut, and nothing of the sort in Uletha. I would suggest a native Siberian language if you believe you can pull that off. Your best bet if you want some kind of American theme, may be a conlang of some sort, I have been using the conlang Áardic in Northern Ruoguovvás, which uses sámi structure and vocabulary with Kallaalisut phonemes. I would greatly appreciate it if you were to include a related language to your territory. If you want to validate your request, using an already established language would certainly help.

History

I find your inclusion of Ruoguovvás a bit strange. Ruoguovvás does not have a wiki page as of yet so you'd be forgiven for assuming, but I do not see Ruoguovvás as ever having been on that side of the Iðitbeaivimearra. Ruoguovvás is a diverse union of arctic historic herding and fishing cultures, and is quite recent in terms of Uletha. If you want to go with the 'tyrannic overlord' theme, I'd suggest citing UL19a instead. Even if it in general isn't the best theme to go with.

The Vikings of OGF have been referenced before, but to my knowledge never in this area. Often being seen as part of the Vinn sea. It would be a strange inclusion of seafaring raiders if nobody in the area mentions them. It may be beneficial to forgo the 'vikings' term as that brings a lot of assumptions and instead refer to something else. As previously mentioned, Nordic cultures are not really referenced in this area.

Physical geography

I like that you see the area as very cold. Previous mappers in the area have not, and I hope you share the image that UL19b is no place for freeways, and the north should perhaps have no roads whatsoever. I like the idea of the tundra and the relatively low, presumably old mountains seem perfect for the area. If anything, perhaps Taiga could be a smaller part of the territory and the tundra be the majority? Seems reasonable for the latitude.

Population

I appreciate your population being relatively low. But for a country located almost entirely north of the Arctic Circle, in a part of the world where seeing the effects of a 'gulf stream' seems woefully unlikely, I find your estimate of 3 million people to be very high. I would find 1 million to perhaps be a high estimate. Keep in mind that agriculture is mostly impossible at this latitude. in addition, I would assume maybe the vast majority of the population to be in the far far south. Even more so than 75%

The name

In summary, perhaps a slight reimagining of the cultures would be beneficial. Western Siberian would be my suggestion. And in general, perhaps adapt the plan a bit more to the intense climate. Lower population etcetera. Perhaps another that could help you is doing some research on the nearby countries. ask yourself the question, how does this country relate to Ruoguovvás? To Lechia? To UL19a? In addition, it may be good to prove that you are able to map on a larger scale as well, something you'll have to do a lot in UL19b.

I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you in the future!
