'''1610''' a small vilage was founded at the eastern end of the [[Manheart]] Island. The importance of the place lay in his sheltered harbour. Around 1700 the village grow til the Brick Street - named after the wall from brick stones. Around the town meanwhile lay the towns of Bronzeville and Weybirton and some rurual villages like Perisher, Smithwick, Barnston, Sinclair, Hormans Forge, Alderbrook, Placton, Eppenham, Kenver, Perlinter, Poplar or Asperton - today all incorporated in  the area of Stanton City.

Around 1700, Manheart expanded to the Brick Street, named after its wall of brick stones. Meanwhile, the then-separate towns of Bronzeville and Weybirton grew separately, as well as smaller rural communities such as Perisher, Smithwick, and Barnston. Today, these are all suburbs of Stanton. (more will follow)

As in the second half of the 19th century more and more people come to Stanton, for wide areas of rurual land are planed blocks, to build tenements. At different places, at different times and from diferent authorities '''street grids''' are created. The streets there are named with numbers - the rectangled running "avenues" sometimes have an individual names.
+
==Grid System==
* in Manheart = Streets from 1 to 100 running east to west, avenues have numbers too

* in Southside = Streets from 1 to 100 '''South''' running east to west, avenues have names from A to Z with female prenomes

* in Bruchlinie = Streets from 1 to 74 '''East''', running east to west, avenues are named "row" and have numbers

* in Bruchlinie and Meadows = Streets from 1 to 169 '''North''', running southeast to northwest, avenues have individual names

* in Meadows = Streets from 170 to 279 '''North''', running south to north, avenues have indivdual names

* in Bronzeville = Streets from 1 to 140 '''West''', running southest to northwest, avenues are named after birds or trees or have indivdual names, streets 1 to 50 partly have irregular pattern.

If someone only says "34th Street" is meaned the street in Manheart. If you mean this street directly, you also can say "34th Street Central".
+
With the first half of the 19th century came a population boom. This is the period in which the most landmasses were cleared out in order to make room for more urban development, in which a pragmatic system of street grids were created at different times, and from different authorities. Parallel paths running close to one another were designated as streets, while parallel paths further apart were designated as avenues. Roads not following the grid system are often called "ways" or "alleys".
 +

 +
* in Manheart, streets are numbered 1 to 100 and run southwest-northeast. Avenues are numbered 1 to 13.
 +
* in Southside, streets are numbered 1 to 100 with the suffix "South" and run southwest-northeast. avenues are lettered A to V with the names of females.
 +
* Bruchlinie is divided into two distinct street grids. In one, streets are numbered 1 to 75 with the suffix "West" and generally run east-west. Avenues are designated as "rows" and are numbered from 1 to 29, after which they become the names of countries. In the other, streets are numbered 1 to 132 to the suffix "North" and run southwest-northeast. Avenues have individual names.
 +
* in Meadows, streets are numbered 133 to 279 with the suffix "North" and run southwest-northeast (133-169) and northwest-southeast (170-279). Avenues have indivdual names.
 +
* in Bronzeville, streets are either numbered 1 to 43 with the suffix "North" or 1 to 142 with the suffix '''West'''. Streets run in all directions. Avenues have indivdual names.

Before the arriving of settlers, the Bronzeville area was temporal forests covering the hilly area between  the Falcon River and the Alder River. The Eppenham Forest is the last remnant of these woods. Both the Alder River in the north and the Falcon River in the south, were situated next to broad stripes of wetland, bushland and grass. Highest point of the borough is Cathill with an elevation of 37 m.

The highest point of the borough is Cat Hill, with an elevation of 121 feet.

In the formerly rural area of the county small villages such as Eppenham, Placton, Ottermarsh or Alderbrook were founded. In 1738 the township of Bronzeville was established. In Bronzeville many factories for metal-working were erected to service business in the city of [[Manheart]], on the green meadows. In few years Bronzeville grew to a hightly industrial town comprised mainly of factories and working-class houses, often occupied by financial non-solvent families. During the surge in the use of railroads in the 1850ies Bronzeville was able to achieve many important industrial landmarks. Meanwhile, along the rivers and in the hills, the upper class of Manheart built summer-houses, villas and great private parks. Some of these parks have survived to this day.

In 1864 the rest of the bourough was divided into planning blocks with the so called "great street grid" (see graphic) which included streets numbered from "50th Street West" to "142nd Street West".

County tree planting programm of 2010: In 2011, in order to increase air quality and mitigate pollution, Bronzeville initiated a massive program to plant rows of trees whereever there was empty space.. In the eastern area of Eppenham, the county additionally constructed a municipal nursery. Private citizens or companies that plant an evergreen tree receive a bonus of 50 $, if the tree grows to at least 10 years old, and they shall get an additional 100 $, iff the tree is maintained until 25 years of age. Most trees are planted in rows at schools to educate children on the importance of responsible environment management.

Stanton is the largest city in the state of New Carnaby and in the Federal States. The city's population is 8,501,861, and its total area is 524.38 square miles, 86% of it land.

Geography

Stanton is generally flat. The highest hills are Green Hill (Weybirton) at 138 feet, Cat Hill (Bronzeville) at 121 feet, and Mellon Hill and Spruntly Hill (Meadows) at 118 feet each.

By land, Stanton is bordered by Belleville to the southeast, Aldergate County to the south, and Westham County to the west, It also borders Warwick, Penquisset across the Carnaby River to the northeast and Old Trappard, Delenshire Islands across the bay to the east. .

The city is divided into six boroughs. Meadows and Bruchline both lay on an island between the Carnaby and Alder rivers. Manheart, the city center of Stanton, lays on an island between the Alder and Falcon rivers. Bronzeville, Southside and Weybirton lie on the mainland.

History

In 1610, a small vilage was founded at the eastern end of the Manheart Island. The importance of the site lay in its sheltered harbour. (more will follow)

Grid System

With the first half of the 19th century came a population boom. This is the period in which the most landmasses were cleared out in order to make room for more urban development, in which a pragmatic system of street grids were created at different times, and from different authorities. Parallel paths running close to one another were designated as streets, while parallel paths further apart were designated as avenues. Roads not following the grid system are often called "ways" or "alleys".

  • in Manheart, streets are numbered 1 to 100 and run southwest-northeast. Avenues are numbered 1 to 13.
  • in Southside, streets are numbered 1 to 100 with the suffix "South" and run southwest-northeast. avenues are lettered A to V with the names of females.
  • Bruchlinie is divided into two distinct street grids.
  • in Meadows, streets are numbered 133 to 279 with the suffix "North" and run southwest-northeast (133-169) and northwest-southeast (170-279). Avenues have indivdual names.
  • in Bronzeville, streets are either numbered 1 to 43 with the suffix "North" or 1 to 142 with the suffix West. Streets run in all directions. Avenues have indivdual names.

Infrastructure

Airports

Today Stanton has two airports:

The first airfield in Tosterglope, used until 1928, has been changed to a park with a museum for aircraft pioneers. Another former airfield lies near Hunters Hide in Bruchlinie.

Streets

Stanton is bypassed by the New Carnaby state routes 1, 4-29, and 41 and the motorways FS-1, 11, 13, 20, and 22.

Rails

Stanton has one of the most expansive subway systems in the world, with 24 lines spanning a length of 900 kilometers. Details in Stanton Subway.

North and northwest-bound train lines terminate at the Union Station, and south and west-bound lines terminate at the Southern Station (southern division). For thrugoing trains, connections between both stations are in use. Bronzeville, Astera, Southcross or Trucenton also contain smaller stations. Alongside the passenger tracks, additional tracks for freight trains are in use. The main operator for destinations in the west and south of New Carnaby is the New Carnaby Metronome Railway.

From both railway-stations, a net of commuter-lines have spread out to the outer parts of the cities and counties in the vicinity, or to the state of Penquisset. For details, see Stanton Northern Commuter and Stanton Southern Link. The SWC (Stanton Warwick Connector) is an independent commuter line.

Stanton's first railway line opened in 1839 and ran from Pitcher Street in Southside via Ann'harbor Way to the port of Belleville. Subway line 5 now runs the same course.

Bus

Stanton has several bus terminals:

Street-grids in Bronzeville County

Before the arriving of settlers, the land was mostly flat woods, the Eppenham Forest being the last remnant of this. Both the Alder River in the north and the Falcon River in the south are situated in the middle of broad strips of wetland, bushland and grass. The highest point of the borough is Cat Hill, with an elevation of 121 feet.

In the formerly rural area of the county, small villages such as Eppenham, Placton, Ottermarsh and Alderbrook were founded. In 1738, the township of Bronzeville was established, where many factories for metal-working were erected to serve business in the city of Manheart. In just a few years, Bronzeville grew to be a thriving industrial town comprised mostly of factories and working-class families. Poverty was relatively high. During the surge of railroads in the 1850s, Bronzeville was able to achieve pass many important industrial landmarks.

Meanwhile, along the rivers and in the hills, the upper-class of Manheart built summer houses, villas and great private parks in Bronzeville. Some of these parks have survived to this day.

Bronzeville's first planned grid of streets was formed in 1827. Over the next few decades, these grids expanded to Astera, New Astera, New Bronzeville and Eppenham. In 1864 the rest of the borough was divided into planning blocks under the "great street grid" (see graphic).
