:::*Word of caution: some of the items added to the page before Alessa's clean-up were reminiscent of the early days OGF cringe naming. Likewise using prominent company founder names as the basis (O'Leary, Souter). And there also needs to be a certain level of maturity involved - coprolite (fossilised faeces), greedy and suck off for petrochemical company names doesn't really meet that threshold. /[[User:Wangi|wangi]] ([[User talk:Wangi|talk]]) 15:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Do you also accept foreign franchises/shops (in my case from Plevia and Izaland), or should the discussion be limited for now to brands born in Ingrea?

ForumsIngrea → Ingrea/Retail and commercial company names

In an effort to create a sense of consistency across Ingerland can I propose we make a note here of retail and commercial company names so that other mappers can use them. I am working on mapping the centre of Salmouth and I'd like to add some shops and offices but I'd like to use brands that will be used consistently through Ingerland. Unsigned comment by Myrcia (talk).

Official proposals

For the sake of oragnisation at this point, please keep your suggestions together if not a member of the Ingerland collaborative.

  • Supermarkets: Freshmarket and Freshmarket Express, EACO and EACO Local, Allerdale's and Allerdale's Metro, Eller & Cole
  • Chemists: Bridges, Savermed
  • Bookshops: Stowfordes, AGW
  • Department stores: Eamon Jones, Peters and Scott, Lewishead's

Existing chain stores in Glaster

Glaster has carried over a distinct, established and existing variety of stores from before its incorporation into Ingerland. I've included them in a separate section for clarity, as they are not technically proposals but could be upscaled nationally.

  • Supermarkets: Almingtons (Almington's Express), Marta (Marta Mini), Glaster Co-operative
  • Bookshops: Weston
  • Department Stores: Brook's
  • Clothing: Morden and Oswald, Lizzie, Blue Banana
  • Shoes: Jacobs, Parsons (or Jacobs-Parsons?)
  • Electronics: CSV, Silver Shield, Recyclone
  • Cars: Leeman, Fabler
  • Home and Furniture: Carpet Castle, Glaster Interior Furnishings, Glaster Co-operative Home and Furniture, 1 2 3 Sofa
  • Opticians: Weller and Tyler, Pike Optics
  • Music: TopDog
  • Beauty: Flamingo!, l'Orient
  • Travel Agencies: Longitude
  • Banks: Glaster Building Society, The Western, South Glaster Investment Bank
  • Restaurants: Melodine, The Viceroy, Final Frontier, Al's Diner, Taste of Darcodia (perhaps Plevia is now more appropriate), Big Chicken
  • International supermarkets: Ulethan Food Store
  • School Uniforms: First Steps
  • Garden Centres: Woolmans
  • Off Licence: Sparkling Chloe
  • Pawnbrokers: Ka-Ching
  • Charity Shops: Man Down, Glaster Cancer Society
  • Petroleum: Catalyco, PA (PanArchanta)
  • Rail companies: Glastrail, West Glaster Railways

Note 1: the precise naming of businesses has been inconsistent throughout the time I have mapped Glaster (9 years now), and feature some variation, though the names on this wiki page can be considered definitive.

Note 2: this list is not exhaustive and there may be more chain stores in Glaster I have not yet identified.

Note 3: a number of these include the word Glaster as part of their naming, though this can be changed quickly if these chains were to be upscaled.

Additional suggestions

Here are some additional suggestions by Rædwald:

  • Fast-food restaurants: Brigadier Burger, Simon's Bakery, XD Chicken
  • Banks: Huws Bank, Royal Ingerish Bank
  • Entertainment: PLAY
  • Petrol: IPC
  • Transport and transit: QBus, PrimeDrive, Emerald Bus, Hafenomni, izybus, QCoach, Gigacoach
  • Other: Ingerland Parking Management (IPM)
