:First of all, congrats on the territory! Exciting to see it finally claimed. Full disclaimer that I'm not involved in Antarephia at all, but it seems to me that you have a lot of leeway with what you language you want. There's Castellanese colonization nearby (San Juan de Castellan in Kofuku), and you could do a mix of Spanish and whatever native languages (perhaps conlangs) were present before colonization. Norwegian/Swedish (not sure what Norwegian is, but OGF:Swedish is Svennish) also works, as would English/French/etc in my opinion. It would also be cool to have a state that's primarily conlang. I think what matters the most is that you pick the option that will get you to be excited about mapping with it. Maybe someone from the region can point you in a more specific direction. --User:Lithium-Ion | (talk) 16:48, 31 July 2025 (UTC) | :First of all, congrats on the territory! Congratulations on moving into Antarephia. I was formerly involved in the Harda Archipelago region, and for a short while was part of a collaboration in the islands north of Tárrases. We mapped using both Spanish and Faroese (primarily the latter), both from differing periods of colonisation - originally, it was a former Castellanese colony purchased by Norðurland. It was known in Faroese first as Ginnungaoyar and later as Kvaloyar, although this second name didn't last long before the project ended. In Faroese, Ginnungaoyar means "the islands in the void," and was derived from the primordial void of Ginnungagap + suffix -oyar (islands), which was in reference to how far away this place was from its colonial homeland. In Spanish, it was known as the Islas Ballenas (Whale Islands). Remnants of our short stint there are still extant in that archipelago. It could be interesting to bring that concept back from the grave and perhaps put a fresh spin on it. Just my thoughts. If you want to go this route, there are a couple files I can send you for it. Best of luck with the territory! KAB (talk) 22:25, 31 July 2025 (UTC) | |||

Hello,
Now that I have been accepted into the new AN160 territory project, I am trying to hash out what the language of the state should canonically be.
The existing mapping was a mix of norweigan, swedish, spanish, and conlang. Which, if any of these make most sense for this area?
Option 1. Spanish Option 2. Spanish-inspired conlang Option 3. Norweigan/Swedish Option 4. Conlang with unused script in OGF
