Biota of Deodeca

Flagship species

Image Name Scientific name Conservation status Range Details
Deodecan bison Bison bison deodecanis
All of Deodeca but prefer flatter, wooded regions. Historically hunted for fur and meat by Native Archantans.

Ingerish settlers did the same but due to declining numbers

Deodecan bisons were placed under environmental protection

in 1910. As a flagship species of Deodeca, they remain popular.

Urbanisation and deforestation push bison into more hostile and

unsuitable habitats, which is threatening their numbers.

Southern Astrasian fur seal Arctocephalus astrasianis Southern waters of the Sea of Deodeca, normally

form colonies on islands or secluded beaches of

the mainland.

Peralian kangaroo Macropus peralis Central flatlands of Deodeca in low scrubland and

low-lying forest areas.

First sighted in Peralia, giving the name.
Deodecan pelican Pelecanus umbranis Coastal areas and shallow bays.
