Obwondu, officially the 'Republic of Obwondu', is a country in North Archanta, sitting on its eastern half. Bordered by Maltesia / Nhareland to the west, it also shares a border with Drenth-Line-Feze in the east, and AR107 to the south. Furthermore, it shares a maritime border with Borevvia. Its capital and largest city is Baegwo, with important cities including Ngengeta, Sesedoko and Onembe.

Much of Obwondu was inhabited by Lakawian- and Nebwontic-speaking farmers and herders until 3,000 years ago, when Mawunga speakers arrived in the south and Heliotic speakers arrived in the east. By 1100, they had all been assimilated into Mawunga speaking cultures in the north near Lake Dabebo and unified under the Kingdom of Obon. In the late 1830s, Lentian explorers found their way to the Kingdom of Obon and this eventually started further trade with Lentia. Later, the Lentians arrived in Obon with the demand to make a protectorate out of the kingdom. The protectorate was a brief construct upon the North Archantan nation, merely imposed for 8 years until the so called Second Obon Kingdom formally retook power and lasted until 1961, when the genocide of the Nguzo people caused the second kingdom to be overthrown and replaced by a republic for all peoples of Obwondu.

Since 1999, Obwondu has been under military rule following a coup d'état that overthrew the democratically elected government. The coup, led by General Kome Nadenge, was initially presented as a temporary measure to restore order and fight corruption, but has since become an entrenched authoritarian regime.
