User:CaribbeanIslandMapper/Language Classification Proposal

From OpenGeofiction

This is a proposal to create a taxonomy and classification for the languages existing on OGF, and to describe where and how they originated.

Classification

Celtic is Caeltig in OGF, with two branches : Goidalig (RL Irish, Scottish Gaelic, & Manx) and Brethanic (RL Welsh (OGF Cambric / Cambraeg), Cornish, and Breton).
English is Ingerish. "Anglish" is a real-world term for a "pure" English without foreign imports (mainly French and Latin). Pawl (talk) 10:30, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

If this is an official proposal that you would like to see community involvement in, please post this in the appropriate forum, so it can be more visible and properly archived later. If this is just a sandboxing workspace, it’ll be renamed as such to reflect its status. On a different note, language family information has intentionally been stripped out of the wiki in most cases for a variety of reasons related to past issues with edit wars, perceived ownership, culturally or linguistically inappropriate naming of branches, and to keep our wonky canon cleaner. If this is something you really think we need to attempt to resolve and include in the canon, post it in the forum so we can find a way to corporately find a way to mitigate these issues. Thank you. — Alessa (talk) 13:07, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
