The Concord Valley Socialist Council Republic is a country located along the Uthyria Bay in Tarephia. It is bordered by Vodeo to the south and Tarrumarca to the north. Its largest city is Port Concord, and its capital is located in Confluence.
History
The territory which comprises the Concord Valley Socialist Council Republic was formerly split between its neighboring countries, along the Concord River, as well as Castellan, which owned the San Pablo islands as a colonial possesion. The area was not defined by any cohesive identity outside of the city of Port Concord itself, which was governed by Vodeo.
During the 1880s-1920s, industry becomes profitable and the area becomes densely populated.
1930s, general strike, union recognition.
1950s, Vodeo turns Port Concord into a free trade city.
1960s, separatist sentiment. Port Concord's urban culture flourishes. Great music, art, very politically radical.
1968, Concordese Red Army forms during street riots in Port Concord, at first fighting against Vodean police during the riots. Crisis with Tarrumarca.
In 1969, Tarrumarcan military junta attempts to invade Port Concord and is repulsed by the Vodean army with the backing of the CRA.
1970, Republic of Port Concord, city-state, limited recognition. Immediate predecessor of CVSCR.
1971, the RPC is recognized by Vodeo following the signing of a treaty, leading to wider international recognition.
1972, revolution, RPC/CRA troops sweep down the entire Concord River valley, as well as up and down the coast, annexing the territory. Vodeo attempts to intervene as this was a violation of the treaty but is unable to reverse their gains, and Tarrumarca is already militarily defeated.
1973, establishment of the Concord Valley Socialist Council Republic.
1975, first five-year plan massively expands the city of Port Concord.
1980, second five-year plan builds the economic infrastructure of the new country.
1985, third five-year plan expands domestic production in industry and agriculture.
1990, annexation of the San Pablo Islands from Castellan. Fourth five-year plan creates a navy.
1993, successfully tests a nuclear weapon.
1995, fifth five-year plan expands the economic infrastructure to directly connect the San Pablo Islands (with their port cities of Providencia and San Pablo) to inland producers.
2000, sixth five-year plan builds high-speed rail, etc.
2005, seventh five-year plan builds high-tech industry.
2010, sixth five-year plan focuses on improvements in education infrastructure.
2015, seventh five-year plan focuses on cultural production.
2020, eighth five-year plan builds semiconductor factories.
Government and politics
Socialist economy, non-partisan political system.
Borough (admin_level 8), Commune (admin_level 6), Canton (admin_level 4)
Each commune elects a list of twenty-five representatives to the State Council.
Economy
Coffee, sugar, cannabis, heavy industry, trade. Worker-run co-operatives domestically, the state itself is one large corporation in terms of international trade.
