Temperate, Great Lakes style climate. Heavy rain throughout the spring and the summer; cold, harsh, windy winters; generally, however, the weather can be unpredictable.

This map is not intended to be a comprehensive to-scale plan, but a vague generalization of what I plan.

Densely populated major city, with a medium sized satellite city, located on opposite sides of the same canal; and a few small cities and towns scattered about. Some light urban growth boundaries exist, and there is an active attempt to complete a green belt around the major city, but it is far from thorough, with the development of numerous exurbs preventing this. Heavy agricultural land use in the north, and declining, once prominent industrial use along some parts of both coasts. Majority european-esque descent, but with a much more significantly diverse population within the cities. The region also thrives on a tourism industry thanks to its scenic natural parks.

Majority English; Presence and influence of native cultures still present. The timber and coal industries initially brought settlers here, and urban growth continued very slowly until the late 19th century, when the population began rapidly growing with the digging of the Seneppi canal. Today, much of the state's former natural space is occupied by agricultural use. Culturally, the region now has a very adademic reputation, particularly regarding natural sciences. Despite this, it's still home to many humble folks who pride themselves on their simplistic family origins. Within the major population centers, there is a particularly multicultural emphasis. Ethnic enclaves of many sorts are prominent, and it is not uncommon for the average person to know someone who speaks another language.
