*Hello leotherocketman, thank you for your application. Your mapping activity so far is about adequate to apply for a private territory, so I'll go ahead with the application. My comments are as follows:

**Climate, colonial history and language conform with the East Uletha Concept for the sector. The Economic model is a little harder to justify (mind that your north-westerly neighbour of Khaiwoon is also a Singapore-equivalent, albeit with better land connection and would therefore be a strong competitor) but not completely unthinkable.
**More of a piece for thought than a strict requirement: regarding geography, note that unlike Singapore UL33g is far off the mainland and is part of an arch of islands. Island chains like this usually form from tectonic or volcanic activity. Also, if they were completely flat, they would be washed aways by the ocean storms quite quickly. Maybe consider thinking about some low mountain ranges or hills in at least some places of the main island, like Antigua or Pohnpei. They still have plenty of flat coastal areas for urban areas etc., and it could make for some nice contrasts to the urban areas. At the end of the day, this is up to you though.
**An even smaller detail: The road bridge that you indicate in your sketch would be around 100 km long and cross open water with likely oceanic depths. At the same time, the population of the smaller island would be in the 100,000's maximum, according to your plan. In my point of view, such a bridge would be at the edge of technologically possible in the real world, nevermind economically feasible; maybe hold off with this bridge a little until you are further along your mapping and see if the demand would actually be there.
**Especially if you follow the suggestions above, but also if you decide to stick to the concept of the flat island, I'll ask you to have a look at [http://Help:Making_realistic_countries this resource] if you havent already, and make another sketch for the island that is a little bit more detailed than the one you already provided. This would include hills/forests/reservoirs/ports/airport (Singapore has a lot of them) and also secondary roads. This is because, perhaps ironically, small territories require the most thorough planning. The plan is in no way authoritative for your future mapping - you will most certainly deviate from it as you go along and map. It's just a measure to encourage mappers to think about the macro planning for their territory in a little detail before starting to map and avoid future frustrations on your end - this is based on a few years of experience on my end watching new mappers start off :)
**Looking forward to your reply, all the best, [[User:Leowezy|Leowezy]] ([[User talk:Leowezy|talk]]) 18:00, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

Please fill in the information below to make a territory request.
Territory ID and proposed name
The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country

UL33g

Aurelia

Republic of Aurelia

Physical geography
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. With the exception of Beginner territories, you should always create a sketch map to illustrate & explain your plans. You can add a link to this (hosted on imgBB, Postimages or similar, but not imgur.com)

Most of the islands of Aurelia will have relatively flat terrain similar in height to islands like Singapore. The climate will be a typical tropical/equatorial climate with uniform temperatures, quite a lot of rain, and relatively high humidity. Physical geography of Aurelia will be similar to that of Malaysia and especially Singapore. General plan

Human geography
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

The population of Aurelia will be around three million, mostly on the largest island in the south, where the main city will be developed. Mostly there will be small towns and villages on the other islands, however there will be at least one large town/small city. There will also be one island as a nature reserve, probably one of the smallest. Aurelia will be very well economically developed, with a GDP per capita of between US$70,000 and US$100,000. The population will also be affluent with an average income of US$80,000 and over 20% of the population earning over US$100,000 per annum. Wealth inequality in Aurelia will be low, with under 1 percent of the population earning US$10,000 or less per year. The economy is mostly based around trade, intermediary trade, technology, and tourism. As a result of Aurelia's wealth and economy, the infrastructure will be some of the best in the world. The mapping style will be similar to Singapore, but it will also have a lot of influence of mapping style from England due to its history.

History & culture
A brief description of the intended culture and language

The island was discovered by the Ingerish and found to be mostly uninhabited. It became a colony but is now independent and is its own republic (the states/provinces are the individual islands, main island split into two). The population is mostly of Ingerish descent with other European ethnicities too. There is quite a lot of immigration however immigrants assimilate into the Aurelian culture so the population is overwhelmingly Ingerish-speaking.

Past mapping
To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful.
The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL.

Kaeleq Beach, Rhododactylia

Outline: shows the different areas which I have mapped myself in the Kaeleq Beach area. I completely created the city of Kaeleq Beach plus some other things, the name comes from the actual beach which was already there.

  • Hello leotherocketman, thank you for your application. Your mapping activity so far is about adequate to apply for a private territory, so I'll go ahead with the application. My comments are as follows:
    • Climate, colonial history and language conform with the East Uletha Concept for the sector. The Economic model is a little harder to justify (mind that your north-westerly neighbour of Khaiwoon is also a Singapore-equivalent, albeit with better land connection and would therefore be a strong competitor) but not completely unthinkable.
    • More of a piece for thought than a strict requirement: regarding geography, note that unlike Singapore UL33g is far off the mainland and is part of an arch of islands.
    • An even smaller detail: The road bridge that you indicate in your sketch would be around 100 km long and cross open water with likely oceanic depths.
    • Especially if you follow the suggestions above, but also if you decide to stick to the concept of the flat island, I'll ask you to have a look at this resource if you havent already, and make another sketch for the island that is a little bit more detailed than the one you already provided.
