After recently renaming some of my "Dollar" stores, I was thinking it would be nice if the FSA had an official name for its currency. The name can show up on the map in business names. It seems dollar is unoffically accepted by some and others unofficially use scrip. Is this something where we need some names and could vote on in August? Glauber (talk) 17:12, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not a mapper of the Federal States, but I quite think if there's an official FS currency it would probably be directly pegged to the Unified Standard Dollar. I hope the FS could have like a different currency name like pound or something, but I guess many would prefer using dollar. Like Federal Dollar, maybe.--Zhenkang (talk) 09:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
I do prefer using the "Dollar" name, mostly for simplicity, but I can understand some people preferring a different name. I think there was a discussion somewhere on Discord about it, but I don't recall where, or when. I like Zhenkang's suggestion of the "Federal Dollar", I propose the acronym FSD. ~ Canada LaVearn (talk) 22:48, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- I too prefer the "dollar" as the currency. I think we should see if there is any motivation amongst the community for an official vote on this. Are there any other suggestions? — Alessa (talk) 02:22, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Since we have sat on this for a while, I am going to start a vote in conjunction with the omnibus to approve or reject "dollar" as the currency name.
Current proposals
Federal States mappers are welcome to propose a currency name for formal and informal names for currency.
Formal name
- Dollar
Informal name (will probably stay unofficial and be considered regional slang, but terminology should be known)
- Scrip (West Lakes)
