AR001 - the Circuit of Melawan, Kitayana (part of a federation-state project that I've got in my mind for which I've already mapped at least one candidate city to duplicate into when I get to the phase of developing its mainland)

| An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. With the exception of Beginner territories, you should always create a sketch map to illustrate & explain your plans. You can add a link to this (hosted on imgBB, Postimages or similar, but not imgur.com) |
- climate - tropical all over w/ monsoons between late-May and mid-November each year
- topography - not gonna try to fix it bcuz it's already been mapped to a quality I can accept but anyway lemme describe it in simple terms: mountainous in the northern half + flat in the southern half ^_^
- landscapes - lush mounts of forest in the northeast + northwest that become somewhat more rugged closer to the middle - this becomes more wetland-ish in the southern half (especially closer to the coastline)
- phys geo sketch for this territory - here ( ̄︶ ̄)↗

|---|---|
| A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
- demographics - a half-rural, half-urban permanent population of btwn. 500K and 1M
- economic development - similar to that of Thailand w/ the added bonus of heavily benefitting from tourism since late into the 1970s when it joined the Federation of Kitayanese Circuits (mainland yet to be mapped)
- land occupation + infrastructure - unevenly distributed within the territory w/ the south being more urban in infrastructure and habitation than the rural north
- mapping style - generally to be inspired by the IRL resort areas of Pattaya and Khao Yai (both in Thailand)

|---|---|
| A brief description of the intended culture and language |
- history - indigenously inhabited by the Melawanese people since c. the 23rd century BCE w/ a century-long colonial period from the 1870s to the 1970s (similar to IRL HK and Macau) after which it joined the sovereign federation it's part of today
- culture + language - similar to that of the IRL Isaan region of Thailand + eastern Malaysia w/ an indigenous language similar to IRL Tagalog/Atayal as well as a good command of IRL English + Malay

| To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful. | |
| The {{coord}}, {{node}}, {{relation}} or {{scalehelper}} templates can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - they result in nicely formatted links. Or you can paste in a URL. |
Ishiyama city - an incomplete metropolitan city project intended for copying later w/ a pretty mountainous topography + some lush forest landscapes mixed in a way similar to this territory (ik it's still obviously WIP but... at least having it on hand's better than having nothing to prove for this section (✿◠‿◠))

Hi, I'm Lemuria, the mapper of nearby
Lutang, a Philippines-themed country. Your application's great, but:
- What does the red text in your sketch say? It's unreadable to me. It says something like "Kopayin" which makes no sense to me.
- Ishiyama City, while well-mapped, doesn't really fit the intended theme of the region.
- Also, the expressways are too far apart (from eyeballing it, it is 200 meters, whereas more realistically-scaled expressways are 15-25m apart between lanes.
- You may want to consider requesting a Beginner territory to have a dedicated place to develop your Pattaya-style mapping outside of the blue territories, or you can use the NUPDZ right away.
- What will be the mapping language of Melawan?
Overall, welcome to OGF, and happy mapping! Lemuria (talk) 15:24, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
