I realise we don't have a thread yet for the discussion of communism in OGF. The communist ideology and its variants (Maoism, Juche, Titoism, to name a few) were widespread in our world, and this thread is intended to consolidate how the communist ideology would have developed and spread in OGF. Obviously, this is not a thread to debate the merits or disadvantages of communism, but I hope we can keep things civil.

Based on consensus drawn thus far, communism originated in West Uletha, and Suria was the first communist state in OGF (or at least one of the earliest). Something I wondered is how communism could have spread, like in our world scholars in France had influenced revolutionaries like Pol Pot and Ho Chi Minh.

The ideology could still impact the development of respective countries, particularly if you noticed the more industrial-oriented development around Soviet-era cities such as Perm and Almaty and their residential-blocks. Other impacts include street naming and monuments/statues dedicated to the communist ideology and its variants.
