An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar)

Duchy of Lugnicja is a country with a temperate climate. The climate is required for the southwestern part of Poland.

The northern part of the country is mostly a low plateau area. The central part is made of plains. The southwestern and western parts of the country are much more mountainous (small mountain range), except for areas near the northwestern coast.

The southern areas are basins with low, old granite mountains.

In the east, almost all of the area is plain-highland, except for a small area of volcanic mountains in the southeast.

Duchy of Lugnicja borders UL13c in the east, Lechia in the south, and Siiland in the west.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style

Duchy of Lugnicja has around 17.5 million inhabitants, split between its two historical countries (Lechia, and Siiland).

The capital (Lugnica) is a city located in central plains, near Lugnica Lake. It has around 9 million residents.

The eastern historical country of Duchy of Lugnica has around 1-2 million inhabitants. East is a source of wood, coal ores, and oil (petrol). Due to its mountain nature, towns tend to be smaller.

The western historical country of Duchy has around 3 million inhabitants. West has a lot of agriculture due to its flatter geography. Due to its plain nature, towns tend to be bigger and more connected than towns in east.

A brief description of the intended culture and language

The culture is based on the Polish historical regions of Lover Silesia and Kuyavia.

The language of Lugnicja is Polish and Silesian. In-universe, the language could be considered a dialect of Lechian - Lugnicjan Polechian.

The Duchy of Lugnicja gain independence in 31 July 1831 from Lechia.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL.

Here is an example of my "mapping": https://opengeofiction.net/#map=12/13.8379/-111.9033&layers=B :) not too much, but also not too little.

Hello, Skymarines! Your territory application is okay, for the most part. 17.5 million is way too high for the territory you are requesting. Additionally, I am not sure about the volcanic mountains, but that's not a huge issue, really. Since you mention that the culture would be influenced by Silesian, I can propose a different area in the region, specifically a territory with a similar size to UL13b can be carved out of UL13d, south of Lechia, an area which is closer to the German influenced areas of West Uletha than UL13d (given that Silesian was historically influenced by German). That's optional in any case. Regardless, I will not approve nor reject this application for now. Your rural mapping is good, however you are lacking urban mapping to showcase. Please consider mapping a decently size town or city and then linking the mapping here. For example Kopytkowce or Nowomiejsko, since you've already started developing those. Until then, this application will be put on hold. If you need any help, I'll be of service, alongside the rest of the community. Happy mapping! ⸺ Bixelkoven (talk) (West Uletha Admin) 00:22, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

  • Hello, Skymarines. Please respond to the requirements noted above. Decrease your population plans. The climate you should follow is probably the one of northern Poland as well. Your mapping is satisfactory. I will close the application if you fail to respond. ⸺ Bixelkoven (talk) (West Uletha Admin) 18:33, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
