Mediterranean climate in the east coast separated by mountains on the central-east part. The rest of the country has a temperate European climate. Mountainous and steep coast in the north-east of the country. In the central-west part, large uplands. In the western part of country, big plains and mixed forests with large lakes. Eastern and southern skerry-type coast.

An industrial country, based on the extraction of oil and heavy metal ores. Agriculture prevailing in the south of the country. Central cities and on the coast more populated.

The boundaries we know today were created at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, during the Industrial Revolution. The colonial break-up brought most of the oil and ore deposits within the boundaries of Ogesten (today the United Federation of Ogesten). Massive industrialisation and mining development resulted in economic growth based on exports of fuel, petroleum, hydrocarbons and precious metals. In the second half of the twentieth century, the name was changed to the United Federation of Ogesten and the former counties were given autonomy along the lines of the US. After the economic recovery in the post-war era, the country experienced further economic growth, which had a positive impact on the quality of infrastructure and general living standards. This state of affairs continues to this days.
