Main goal

Map Arténie to at least a medium-detailed level (I want in fact each village and town highly detailed and also natural mapping well in place).

Map Artenia natural features to a medium-detailed minimum towards a high-detailed one. Artenia is an island so natural features will be simple: high points at the core of Mainland and Rochville islands with mountains and woods, high plains and little agricultural fields inland, coastal sands, scrubs and coastal rocks near the sea.

Guideline for the mapping

Villages and Towns

I've mapped on paper all Artenia villages and towns.

Towns are Fort-Fronton, Ikorodui and Le Crotet sur Mer, other names are villages.

Anandohkloh (Anãdôklô)

Mapping 80% complete. Need more details to go to 100%.

Rochville

I need to rework the island natural features (the ridge, agricultural lands and other natural elements) and also the town of Rochville itself: I will make major changes to it (street layouts, downgrading some roads to third-road level or less and rearranging or deleting some neighborhoods). Next step is to add residential buildings (pavillions and flats) and equipments.

I will also rework the other tiny island near Rochville (Ilôt Marginal).


Minor cities

Bréville

Bréville is the second largest city of Artenia.

Streets mapping is complete. I have to complete street names and after that I will add the buildings.

For public equipments: at least 1 school per neighborhood, 1 middle school per 2 neighborhoods (depending of the density) and 1 high school per 5 neighborhoods. 1 or 2 big universities (1 is located north of the city, the other will be south, near the sea). 1 police station per 5 neighborhoods, same thing for fire stations.

Transportation of Bréville: it will be a combination of light rail (use of trams vehicles) and buses networks. I've drawn some tracks (rough sketch) , and will pursue it. I'm thinking about underground tram tracks near Bréville-Plage Train station and the city's center.

Bergate-Ville

It's the third largest city of Artenia.

A part of streets are added, the Ancient Village district street layout is completed, except the buildings.

For the modern part: I will be back on it and adjust street layouts. Bergate-Ville is a new town on Artenia's history so there will be mostly street grids (colonial style). I have to name the streets there, I will do it neighborhood by neighborhood.

A tram and bus network will be implemented in this town.

Torvilliers

Mapping of the 4th largest city is on its way. Street grids added at 90. Will be completed step by step and after that and street naming, I will add the transportation system (maybe a tram) and buildings of all sorts.

Capital city (Arténie-Ville)

Arténie-Ville's mapping is on its way.

Most of the population live between Artenia bay (Arténi Baia) and the Rocade R1 highway whereas outside of R1 highway it will be small to medium neighborhoods.

A regional metro system is being added to this Capital city. It will have more than 10 lines given the city itself, which is a megalopolis and concentrate nearly 3/4 of Artenia's population.

Ancient Village district (Trãwlè Akojo Ãténwã) buildings complete. Equipments are needed (mapping on its way) and it will be the 1st district totally completed of Artenia.

The International Airport is mostly mapped, I have to make some adjustments to it in order to make it complete.


As from December 2023, I will define better Arténie-Ville's differents areas:

  • The Old Harbour (Batofièli Ãtènwã) and old Industrial Zone (Trãwlè Ëdustrinwã Ãtènwã) needs some remodelling: my intentions are to enlarge its width, thus reducing the width of the Old Harbour Bay (or Baie du Vieux Port / Batofièli Ãtènwã Baia). That will make a more coherent and more realistic waterfront.
  • The Arténie-Ville Marina will stay as it is.
  • The Arténie-Ville New Harbour North (Arténi Batofièli Pôstènwã - Sèptè) will either stay in its current location or be farther north from the megalopolis (ideally not far from the R1 Rocade, near the M2 Métro station "Perrot - Arténie-Ville Sèptè" and will have some major roads going directly to it. If I do this action, the vacant area will be the New Industrial Zone.
  • The South Harbour will serve for ferries linking to Rochville Island primarly.
  • I need a refinery zone and like the New Harbour it will be farther from the city...maybe south of the city, near L2 motorway ?
  • Poor neighborhoods will be east of the megalopolis, with slums regulated and unregulated.
  • Middle-class neighborhoods will be either sparse (outside R1 Rocade) and in the west of the megalopolis.
  • High-rise and rich neighborhoods will be at the center core of the city, with some outside the R1 Rocade in the west.
  • CBD is defined, I think about adding a second CBD district.

Addressing

I will adress this topic one step at a time once cities buildings and equipments are complete. More to come.
