Sunday 20 Sep 2026 - the main OpenGeofiction site will be down for major maintenance to allow for updating the backend rails software to a current release.
- Duration: 6 - 12 hours.
- Starting 05:00 UTC the site will go into read-only mode to allow for backups and data migration
- It will then be unavailable for the rest of the migration and will return in read-only / limited access toward the end of the period as tests are carried out.
- This thread will be updated as the migration progresses, and the wiki and all other OGF services will be available throughout.
Breaking changes after the migration:
- You will not be able to access the site using the
www.style URL - You will only be able to use
https://opengeofiction.net/apiin JOSM as the API server -www.orapi4.in the setting will fail - Level0 will be unavailable
Ensure any edits in iD or JOSM are uploaded or saved locally before the migration starts.
Authentication
- The updated site will still support Basic Authentication (as has been used previously) with JOSM
- At a later date this will be turned off, however JOSM requires a couple of changes before this can be done
